1. Explain the 4 types of communication techniques?

a) Verbal Communication

-words used in a conversation, can be categorized into oral communication and written communication.

-tips for effective communication are using a strong, confident speaking voice, active listening and to avoid filler words and teen slang.

b) Non – Verbal Communication

-transfer of information using body language including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, tone and pitch voice, body movement and posture also space.

-tips for effective communication are maintaining eye contact, using facial expressions, be aware of tones and sounds, mind posture, and always be considerate of personal space.

c) Visual Communication

-the act of using visuals as an aid during presentations to enhance the context of verbal and/or written communication.

-tips for effective communication are to consider the audience, use only if add value, make the visuals clear and easy to understand, and ask others for permission to include visuals.

d) Written Communication

- relies on grammar, punctuation, and word choice. Developing written communication skills requires practice and fine attention to detail.

-tips for effective communication are clarity, concise, tone, active voice, grammar, and punctuation.

 

2. How you can be a good communicator?

For me to be a good communicator, I need to have the ability to understand what other people are trying to say or point out and also to have the act of developing meaning among entities or groups through the use of sufficiently mutually understood signs. Next, conveying and sharing ideas and feelings effectively apart from abilities used when giving and receiving different kinds of information is also important. All of this involves listening, speaking, observing, and empathizing. Moreover, I need to understand the emotions and intentions behind all the information given for me to react wisely and being able to convey a message. Last but not least, I need to be able to also listen in a way that gains the full meaning of what’s being said and makes the other person feel heard and understood.

i) Interpersonal Barriers: withdrawal, rituals, pastimes, working, games, and closeness
