A) Explain the 4 types of communication techniques?
- VERBAL COMMUNICATION
Definition:
- Words used in a conversation, categorized into Oral Communication and Written Communication.
Tips of Effective Communication :
- Use a strong, confident speaking voice.
- Use active listening.
- Avoid filler words.
- Avoid teen slang.
2. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
Definition:
- Written Communication skills are those necessary to get our point across in writing.
- Written Communication relies on grammar, punctuation, and word choice. Developing written communication skills requires practice and fine attention to detail
Tips of Effective Communication :
- Clarity: Writing in simple language and sticking to concrete, specific information.
- Concise: Include only the details that are necessary to communicate your point.
- Tone: One of professionalism blended with varying degrees of formality and friendliness.
- Active Voice.
- Grammar and Punctuation.
3. NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION
Definition:
- Transfer the information through the use of body language, including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, tone and pitch of voice, body movement, posture, and space.
Tips for Effective Communication :
- Maintain eye contact
- Use facial expressions
- Be aware of tones and sounds
- Mind posture
- Be considerate of personal space.
4. VISUAL COMMUNICATION
Definition:
- The act of using visuals as an aid during presentations to enhance the context of verbal and/or written communication.
Tips for Effective Communication :
- Ask others for permission to include visuals.
- Consider the audience.
- Use only if add value
- Make the visuals clear and easy to understand.
5. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
Definition:
- Process of exchanging information, ideas, and feelings between two or more people through verbal and non-verbal methods.
Tips for Effective Communication :
- Pay attention.
- Use body language to show that you are listening and you are interested.
- Clarify understanding.
- Don’t interrupt or redirect the conversation.
- Give appropriate responses that are honest but polite.
