- Explain the 4 types of communication techniques?
- Verbal communication is categorized into oral and written communication where we must deliver messages with a strong and confident speaking voice. Using active listening helps us to engage with other people in positively. We need to avoid filler words and teen slang during the communication session.
- Written communication refers to those necessary skills to get our point across in writing. It relies on grammar, punctuation, and word choice in developing the skills which require practice and fine attention to detail. To be more effective, we should clarify and concise our information to ensure the messages that have been delivered can be understood by the reader. Then, tone plays a role in expressing our feelings by using an active voice with better grammar and punctuation.
- Nonverbal communication is defined as a skill in transferring information through the use of body language including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, tone and pitch of voice, body movement, and, posture and also space. This skill helps us to enhance our ability to communicate effectively such as maintaining eye contact, use facial expressions, be aware of tones and sounds, mind posture, and be considerate of personal space. So that, the interaction might be more interesting and not bored.
- Visual communication represents the acts of using visuals during presentations, for example, infographics, interactive content, and motion graphics to increase the quality of verbal and/or written communication. We can persuade others to include visuals to make the audience to more understand the topic that we are talking about. Moreover, the visual can be a medium to strengthen our messages.
- How you can be a good communicator?
To be a good communicator, we should practice public speaking often to improve the ways we are presenting. We need to be able to control our emotions, tone and voice to ensure that we can convey the messages in clear, concisely and easily to understand. Trying to get feedback from other people to know which part that we need to improve our communication skills.

- Interpersonal barriers include:
- Withdrawal: Withdrawal is an absence of interpersonal contact. It is both refusals to be in touch and time alone.
- Rituals: Rituals are meaningless, repetitive routine devoid of real contact.
- Pastimes: Pastimes fill up time with others in social but superficial activities.
- Working: Work activities follow the rules and procedures of contact but no more than that.
- Games: Games are subtle, manipulative interactions which are about winning and losing. They include “rackets” and “stamps”.
- Closeness: The purpose of interpersonal contact in closeness.
