Explain the 4 types of communication techniques?
1) Verbal communication
Definition -Words used in a conversation, categorized into
-Oral communication
-Written communication
Tips for effective communication -use strong, confident speaking voice
-use active listening
-avoid filler words
-avoid teen slangs
2) Non-verbal communication
Definition -transfer of information through the use of body language, including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, tone and pitch of voice, body movement and posture, and space.
Tips for effective communication -maintain eye contact
-use facial expressions
-be aware of tones and sounds
-mind posture
-be considerate of personal space
3) Visual communication
Definition -the acts of using visuals as aid during presentations or enhance context of verbal and/or written communication
Tips for effective communication -ask others for permission to include visuals
-consider the audience
-use only if add value
-make the visuals clear and easy to understand
4) Interpersonal communication
Definition -process of entire process of exchanging information, ideas the feelings between two or more people through verbal and non-verbal methods
Tips for effective communication -pay attention
-use body language to show that you are listening and you’re interested
-clarity understanding
-don’t interrupt or redirect the conversation
-give appropriate responses that are honest but polite
