The Company Background

Perai industrial area or also known as the industrial estate is one of the major industrial parks in Penang and DIC Compounds (M) Sdn. Bhd. is located in this busy area. DIC Compounds (M) Sdn. Bhd. DIC Compounds (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is one of the leading manufacturers of special compounds & colorants product in the region, manufacturing masterbatches, plastic colourants, conductive compounds and engineering plastic. Established in 1988, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of DIC Corporation, Japan. Since its incorporation, DIC Compounds (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is riding the waves of success in its challanges of global competition due to its intensive Research and Development efforts to ensure consistent delivery of innovative products that are responsive to market shifts and demands.

This post is based on the industrial training that I had undergone for 12 weeks in a company named DIC Compounds (M) Sdn. Bhd. This company is located at Kawasan Perusahaan Perai, Penang and one of the leading manufacturers of special compounds & colorants product in the region, manufacturing masterbatches, plastic colourants, conductive compounds and engineering plastic. Established in 1988, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of DIC Corporation, Japan. Since its incorporation, DIC Compounds (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is riding the waves of success in its challanges of global competition due to its intensive Research and Development efforts to ensure consistent delivery of innovative products that are responsive to market shifts and demands. As a trainee, I was assigned to Solid Compound Technical Centre - AP (SCTCAP)  and the main tasks of SCTCAP is to carry out new studies on upcoming product as per customer requirement and further improvising it before the product is being mass produced. During my industrial training period, I was given the routine tasks of to perform Carbon Black Performance Study and also conduct a development project where I need to propose a new file management system and manage the entire file according to the system.
