The Students' Gemilang Award is known as the HEP Award and was held once in 2012 and was introduced to ensure that the association or JKM is better quality and recognized by the university as well as achieving the HEP DG and for the Ministry of Education's Undergraduate Hero award. It is also one of the platforms to recognize the contributions, creativity, innovation and efforts of associations/ clubs/ JKM / undergraduates who have been actively involved in organising activities either at University/National/ International level to announce the name of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The ceremony was the second session after 2018 first in 2018. To ensure that the programme is progressing smoothly, there are 22 appointed committee members comprising of various backgrounds. The preparation of the programme was carried out for 2 months to ensure that it is running successfully.

This council has a positive impact on myself as there is a lot of knowledge or softkill that I have learned throughout managing this Council. In this Council I assume the position of a committee member of the PROTOCOL unit. So, by holding that, there are many things I learned for instance how to manage council flow to make sure it goes smoothly. For the protocol unit there are 6 people and we are divided into several tasks i.e. managing registration, preparing ro councils etc. I was tasked with preparing a program book. To me it's a new experience because before I was only focused on association posters but this time entrusted to provide a program book that was among the guest focus. Already so the habit of every what is done, there must be challenges that need to be meet. In managing this ceremony, the challenge is how to manage time between learning and council management. Through this program, I can increase social networking with UTM students and staff. I am very happy to have the opportunity to manage this event because I can get together with the HEP to recognize the students who contributed in recognition of UTM's name.  In fact, it also inspires to be more productive and engage as much in the program and does not practice the 3K concept of classes, beds and cafes. I look forward to the upcoming session to be given another opportunity to become one of the members of GEMA council committee as I can improve social networking regardless of course or year of study as well as other sessions of experience. In fact, softkill that can be from managing this council can be applied for the future or when it comes to the realm of employment.
