Report Activity - ISS-INDONESIA BOARD MEMBERS INAUGURATION 2020/2021

  1. Program Information

    The International Student Society (ISS) Indonesia UTM inauguration committee itself arranged the ceremony to officially welcome new members, and I was a part of it. On December 4, 2020, this inauguration was conducted online on two platforms: Zoom Cloud Meetings and ISS-Indonesia YouTube live streaming. This program aims to establish ISS-Indonesia UTM as a new position during the 2020–2021 period. The event was attended by representatives from the Johor Bahru Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, UTM International, ISS, PPI friends, and PPI UTM active members. PPI UTM supervisor Prof. Hadi Nur approved and appointed the UTM PPI board for the 2020–2021 service period during the inauguration event. The administrators of the student activities unit will also be chosen. I participate in the Indonesian Muslim Association's entrepreneurial section (AMI IIS UTM).

    Leadership and Teamwork - During the event session, we took the oath of office and pledged to be accountable for the job that had been assigned to us. To accomplish our shared objective, which can make the event successful, I collaborate closely with the other committee members. When there are straightforward or complex issues between divisions, we support one another in developing our unique personalities, which can enhance team performance. Working energizes me in a positive way. Even though the tasks are diverse, the event will be successful if we concentrate on one of our teams and do not undervalue the others. I learned leadership skills in an organization in addition to serving on the committee. 

  3. Position/ Role in the Program
    I am a participant in this event, I am entrusted with being a member of the entrepreneurial division of the Indonesian Muslim Association (AMI PPI UTM). The Indonesian Muslim Association is an Indonesian student activity unit under the auspices of IIS UTM. I am entrusted with this position for one period or one year. in this event. we who are given the position will be sworn in and officially installed.
  4. Self–Reflection

    Along with the success of event planning, I gained a lot of knowledge about how to deal with problems that arise during the planning through this exercise. One of the organizational issues that each team member must carefully address is productivity. Public debates have led me to the conclusion that if the suggested work schedule for each department or division is too demanding for team members, they will certainly lose interest in their work and become mentally preoccupied, making it challenging for them to maintain consistency throughout the business. I will progressively provide this association with my best effort as an active member of the entrepreneurs of the Indonesian Muslim Association (AMI PPI UTM). In my job schedule, I'll give tasks priority, and also remember my commitments to studying

Report Activity - DEEP TALKS VOLUME 4

  1. Program Information
    The Deep Talks webinar series features engaging youth-related topics and has been presented in many stages. Hosted by Miss Putu Rarasati, S.Psi, a Medical Expert Manager Social Connect, Deep Talk vol. 4 is themed "Identity Crisis." This event took place on March 25 from 20:20 to 21:40 MYT. I am a media partner at my job. We conduct study as a group to determine which media have a strong chance of cooperating on this project, Make a media plan and begin organising promotional media in accordance with the requirements for media placement for this Webinar's promotion. In addition to collaborating with "Sejuta Cita" partners, we have successfully worked with over 35 media partners. More than 350 people attended Vol. 4 of the event, which was successful and went off without a hitch. 

  2. The Graduate Attribute(s)

    Communication and teamwork skills – I was entrusted with being a part of the media partner division for this project. The promotion of our event will involve working with media partners, thus communication skills will be necessary in this situation. To ensure there are no roadblocks on implementation day, we also split tasks effectively. I participated in this webinar for the full five months, from November 2021 to March 2022, contributing before, during, and after the event. I successfully hosted DeepTalks vol 3 and 4 events, attended by over 400 people. our event was very successful and had no problems

  3. Position/ Role in the Program
    I am on an event committee, where I work in the media partner division. Our main task is to collaborate with media partners with the aim of marketing our activities to our target audience. on this activity. Our target audience is the general public, especially teenagers.

     

  4. Self–Reflection

    I gained a lot of knowledge working in the media partner division. beginning with effective communication skills, public relations experience, and strengthening workplace ties. Furthermore, the debate in Deep Talk Vol. 4 is on a subject that is very relevant to my life, particularly for young people today. Younger generations frequently go through an identity crisis, I've discovered. I learned how to handle identity crises on this forum. Finding our interests and hobbies might be the first step in converting them into productive and constructive activities. Our lives will be blessed and we won't go through an identity crisis since it is when a person is confused about who they are, doesn't know what they want or want to do, feels useless, and is prone to despair. However, when we like something that is useful and offers positive things, then our life will be blessed and we won't go through that.

Report Activity - DEEP TALKS VOLUME 3

  1. Program Information
    Deep Talks is a series of webinars that have been held in several stages with interesting themes related to youth. Deep talk vol 3 entitled "toxic positivity", hosted by Miss Angie Nathania Devi, a clinical psychologist. This event was held on Sunday, February 27 at 20.20 - 21.40 MYT. I work as a media partner. We as a team research which media has high potential to be a partner in this project, Create a media plan, and start planning promotional media according to the media placement needs for the promotion of this Webinar. We have successfully worked with more than 35 media partners, and collaborated with "Sejuta Cita" partners. The event went smoothly and successfully with more than 400 participants for Vol. 3

    Communication and teamwork skills – In this project, I was entrusted with being a member of the media partner division. In this case communication skills are needed, where we will collaborate with media partners to promote our event. We also divide tasks well so that there are no obstacles on the day of implementation. In this webinar, I contributed before, during and after the event was over with a duration of 5 months, starting from November 2021 to March 2022.

In addition, the topic of discussion in deep talks vol. 3 is very related to my life, especially young people in this era. I learned that, there are times when we don't always think positively and pressure ourselves to be better, we must remain grateful and give ourselves a break. I got useful knowledge during this event. this event is very useful for me, in adding skills and will certainly give me useful experience in the future. especially in the world of work that requires teamwork and relationships

My Goals / Dreams About Software Engineering Course

Software Engineering is perhaps one of the most demanding majors and one of the favorite majors at the moment. This is because the result of the very rapid development of information technology, therefore a lot is needed by professionals in the field of informatics. Software engineering includes computers and communication tools used to store, retrieve and modify data.

There are several reasons why I chose to major in informatics. Here are some reasons why I chose the informatics major:

  1. Bachelor of Software Engineering is needed by large companies located in Indonesia and abroad.
  2. Job opportunities for undergraduate Software Engineering are very large because almost all companies require professionals in the field of informatic.
  3. A Bachelor of Software Engineering can not only become an employee in a company, but can also create employment opportunities themselves.

There are several reasons why I chose to major in Software Engineering. Here are some of my goals:

  1. To make my parents proud. This is my main goal because I really want and make my parents happy by becoming a successful person.
  2. To gain insight into informatics who can become professionals in the field of informatics or informatics experts.
  3. Can work in large companies or can create their own jobs to reduce the number of unemployed.
  4. Can be useful in the field of informatics or other fields for many people and especially useful for families.
  5. Become a graduate who has many skills.

In addition to my goals, I have goals that I want to achieve by entering the Software engineering :

  1. Graduate on time
  2. Passed with satisfactory results
  3. Mastering skills in the field of informatics

 

My Actions, Improvements, and Plans to Increase Potential in The Industry

In achieving my goals and objectives, I must have a strategy or tactic that will help me achieve those goals. The strategy used must be right to achieve these goals at the right time.

Here are some of my strategies for achieving these goals and objectives:

  1. Never skipping class while in college, and always getting to class early.
  2. Review of lessons that have been taught by the lecturer
  3. Doing all assignments given by the lecturer
  4. Be active in the learning process in class and ask questions if you don't understand
  5. Do the best possible quizzes, uts, and semester exams
  6. Do the best practicum possible
  7. Don't delay work
  8. Participate in seminars

My vision and mission in choosing to study software engineering are as follows:

  • Vision: to be an expert in computing and be accepted by large companies.
  • Mission:
  1. Become a scholar who has honesty
  2. Becoming a graduate who has skills in the field of informatics
  3. Become a graduate who has a selling value

My Online Classroom Experience

The corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic that has spread throughout the world makes face-to-face lectures and coming to campus impossible. In order for lecture activities to continue, the campus organizes courses online.

My experience while undergoing online lectures can be said to be quite interesting and a new experience for me. Although at first I had culture shock because I was not used to running online lectures, gradually I started to get used to studying online.

The factor of minimal distraction from the surrounding environment makes online lectures more focused than face-to-face lectures. Besides being more focused, online lectures also made me better understand and understand the explanations from the lecturers. I am more prepared to undergo lectures than regular lectures because I can directly access the course materials via ebooks and the internet.

Although online lectures have several advantages such as saving time, minimal distraction, and can be done anywhere, there are some disadvantages to studying online. One of them is the ineffective flow of communication during online lectures. For example, during a group presentation session, the delivery of material by the group was not delivered effectively because it was only through the application, not through direct explanation by group members.

Online lectures also make lecturers assign more assignments to students than usual. This is done to replace or add to the assessment component in a course due to the elimination of midterm exams. One of the components of assessment in lectures, namely quizzes is also done online. Quizzes can be done via google docs or a special application from the campus.
