Internship at TIEM

I have successfully completed my 12 weeks of internship at Texas Instruments Electronics Malaysia from 20th July 2020 to 8th October 2020. Texas Instruments is a global semiconductor design and manufacturing company which innovated more than 100 000 analog integrated chips (ICs) and embedded processors with corresponding software and tools.

I was assigned to the Site Services Department under Environmental, Safety and Health team with the responsibilities to inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in the workplace to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. .

It was a great experience as I was exposed to all three sections in ESH which I had the opportunity to involve in safety, industrial hygiene and environmental activities guided by the respective specialists. Projects and trainings had been given to me to apply my knowledge and skill as Chemical Process Engineering student and for my self- development.

Two projects were handled by me which were Chemical Risk Mapping and Semi S2S8 Assessment. The chemical risk mapping was done to prepare the site for Chemical Health Risk Assessment. Both the projects were completed successfully within the given time frame with the help of industrial hygiene specialist and safety specialist. Besides, I have lead a promotional activity on Healthy Food Program which was a success.

In a nutshell, this internship has been a great learning experience on how working life actually looks like. I have learnt many new and valuable things throughout the internship period which will definitely be applied throughout my learning process especially on the key learnings.
