12 weeks Internship in AMR Environmental Sdn. Bhd.

As a third-year chemical process engineering candidate, joined an internship in the Air Resources Research Laboratory (iKOHZA) has been such a rising experience for me. Generally, the working experiences in the laboratory had greatly contributed to my personal growth and development in the chemical industry. These experiences have strongly influenced my career development in the future. The master students under iKOHZA have significantly helped and assisted me to integrate my theoretical knowledge into the real-life technological and scientific world. By giving the chance, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to DR. Mohd Rashid Mohd Yusof, the Executive Chairman of AMR Environmental Sdn. Bhd. and IR. Ammar Mohd Rashid, the Managing Director for giving me the chance to be an intern of the company. Through this great opportunity, I have gained valuable knowledge, experiences, and professional skills that I believe will have a significant effect on my future career while fostering personal growth and development.

During these months, I had a chance to join an event, World Ozone Day together with Nurhamizah and other seniors under iKOHZA. This event took place at UTMKL for two days. We had a chance to organize and set-up a booth for the demonstration of instruments. During the event, I was in charge of taking care of the booth. At first, I was not confident to discuss topics and ideas with my teammates. After some communication with them, I was become proactive and suggested to draw creative doodle art on the bag to attract the listeners. My teammates are helpful and kind, especially in helping us to solve the transportation problem. Besides, I am grateful to have Nurhamizah, my classmate for corporating with me during this event. We brainstormed ideas and discussed issues during the event period. I also learned event management knowledge when organized the display booth during World Ozone Day.

In conclusion, this internship chance gave me a great opportunity to learn the usage of several instruments, for instance, pycnometer and sieving machine. Moreover, I had enhanced my knowledge regarding the fabric filtration and powder handling process. These two key theories are important in my future career as these are one of the job scope of the Research and Development Department that I would like to work in the future. The internship experiences and knowledge had eventually helped me to generate a better idea for my degree final year project. The 12 weeks of the internship programme in AMR Environmental Sdn. Bhd. was a big milestone in my career and personal development. I am wishing to get a chance to be a part of the company in the future. I will strive to use the professional skills and industry experience gained from this internship programme in my future career and achieve desired career objectives.
