By joining the quiz competition, the graduate attributes that I am able to developed are adaptability, thinking skills, global citizen, and self-awareness. As answering the questions, I unknowingly developed my thinking skills as the questions given are general questions regarding the consumer rights and the good and services. Even though I did not make it to the final level, I am able to gain knowledge. Other than that, the quiz competition has created self-awareness in myself. Last but not least, it is a good experience to join the quiz competition as I gained very useful knowledge.
The impact of this event on the development of my graduate attributes is I was able to gain a great experience to adapt myself learning a new programming language in a short time. I was also able to develop my thinking skills while developing the code during the activities. As a computer science student, I was so excited to learn a new programming language as it can hone my programming skills. The challenge I faced during the lesson was I need to absorb the knowledge in such a short time. Sure I was able to learn a simple Python code but to develop a good and complex code, I need to learn more than just the introduction to Python language. However, I am glad that the speaker are able to guide us through the language and give some advice on how to be a good programmer.
During the course, adaptability, thinking skills, and communication skills are one of the graduate attributes developed while being a participant. The Basic French Course did not only developed my communication skills but also thinking skills. This is because there were activities held during the lesson that required participants to use their thinking skills. Adaptability skills were developed when I am expected to find diverse and unexpected solutions to problems and challenges during the activities. The challenge I faced during the event was I have no knowledge or skills in communicating in French language. I need to quickly remember the words taught as it will be used in later activities. The way of French language's pronunciation also is different from English and Bahasa Melayu. Luckily the speaker guided every participant and slowly teach us how to pronounce each French words. Overall, I learned so much during the lesson and able to do a simple self introduction in French language.
Chapter presentation was me and my group members' first task for this course. We need to present about Chapter 8 : Communications and Networks to our class. From this task, I can learn more about communication and network.
Technology and Information System course had taught me a lot throughout this semester. It shows the important of IT in our life where it includes hardware, software, network and communication, system application and more. During this semester, I had attend a few industrial talk related to this course. I would like to thank my lecturer, Dr. Goh and my group members for their commitment and guidance throughout this semester.
From my point of view, I would choose Microsoft Azure as my service provider. For a developer, Microsoft Azure is ideal because connecting Visual Studio with Azure is very easy and straightforward. We can select either Windows or Linux to build a web app for the software. Azure has hybrid capabilities, making it distinctive. They allow easy mobility and a consistent, secure on-premise and public cloud platform. To boost accessibility and performance, Azure offers a wider range of hybrid connections, including virtual private networks (VPNs), caches, content delivery networks (CDNs), and ExpressRoute connections. The Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) is an industry-leading safety process designed for Azure. It includes security at its root, and on Azure Cloud, private data & services stay secure and protected. The new regional standard for cloud privacy, ISO 27018, is the first to be implemented. For all operational activities and data on the Azure Cloud, Microsoft therefore guarantees the best in terms of safety.
This talk is like an eye opener for a rookie that are still contemplating their next step in life. The speakers had shared their student life experiences and what they did in order to become successful where it can be a guide for undergraduate students. But the speakers are still fresh graduate students which means they are still new to careers life so they cannot share more of details in work experience. From this talk, I learned that I need to participate in various competitions in order to gain knowledge, information and skills. Therefore, this talk inspired me to give my best in study if I want to be a successful student.
My main goal as a student is to become a successful network and security engineer. In order to achieve it, I have to master all the skills needed and equip all the requirements in this field. The industrial talk has taught me a lot about IT project management. To reach my goal, I must work hard and never stop learning because there are a lot of knowledge that I can explore and develop them in a better use in the future. Finally, I hope that I can contribute well to the society in this industry.
From this industrial talk, I had improved my knowledge on Industry Revolution 4.0 and I also learned about 4IR. I hope that I can contribute to my country development so that Malaysia will be more advance in this aspect.
I used to see how technologies evolve since it was the peak of time where people starting to realize that technology plays an important role in their life. Since I was a kid, I love the idea of how technology really important to the people. I always wanted to learn more about Information Technology but unfortunately, I could not get the opportunity. Now, I am a Computer Network and Security student where I will be learning so many things about IT. Pursuing my studies in this course already open the door to my future. My goal is to be an excellent student and work at a big company where I will learn more deeper about IT.
Design thinking teaches me on how to solve a problem in a proper procedure. It points out on important things you have to do in order to solve a problem. With the procedure, solving problems will be much easier and save a lot of time. One of the \ important things is what the people need at the time being. What it can do to help the people in need to make their life easier? Design thinking also teaches me about teamwork. Teamwork is very important where all of the group members have to take part in the project. The project will be a failure or incomplete if only certain members do their part. Giving in idea also is part of the teamwork where all of the members voice out their opinion. Therefore, I already learn bit by bit on important things I need to have before going deeper in my course.
Before pursuing in the industry, I need to improve my technical and soft skills such as communication and critical thinking. Next, I have to do more reading and research to gain more knowledge where it can be very useful whenever I need it. These knowledges will not only benefit me in the industry, but also it can turn me into a successful person in the future.
