WORKSHOP: HOW TO BE WELL-PREPARED FOR INTERVIEW | ExCEL REPORT NO. 1 by LEE JIA YING

MINI REPORT

On 2nd March 2019, I had involved in the program of WORKSHOP: HOW TO BE WELL-PREPARED FOR INTERVIEW. The workshop was held in Lecture Hall 9, Block N24, UTM, starting from 7.30am to 5pm. The workshop was a one day programme which was organised by UTM Career Centre. It was the first pre-event of UTMCC 2019. This programme aims to promote and inculcate the essential skills that workplace needed besides enhancing the students’ motivation for career roadmap. The programme gave an insight into a structured internship programme. Besides, there were few sessions in the workshop, including resume writing and interview. There were some experienced speakers there presenting and sharing their useful information with experienced skills respectively. Students were able to consult the speakers to modify their resumes. The participants grabbed the chance to develop and enhance their ability in communication skills, enterprising skills and so on. This workshop was smoothly held throughout the day.

SELF-REFLECTION

I have decided to take part in the workshop so as to enhance my skills from different aspects. I was able to develop scholarship and enterprising skills. The participants were actively indulge themselves in the workshop. I had the chance to involve myself in the discussion with others and hence I was able to gain the knowledge.  There was also Q&A sessions where a platform was provided for participants to interact with speaker in order to learn more throughout the programme. I was taught on how to write a good resume and be prepared during the job interview session. Besides, I was glad to join this resume writing workshop as it was free to all participants. Furthermore, the fee to attend a resume writing workshop outside the UTM is unreasonable for us as students. So, I would like to thank UTMCC for holding this program for us to improve ourselves for the sake of our future career. Although it took a long period of time to finish this workshop, I enjoyed myself very much in this programme.
