SUSKOM was a sports game organized by the PERSATUAN MAHASISWA SAINS KOMPUTER (PERSAKA) from School of Computing, UTM. This event includes various sports such as badminton, volleyball, e-games like PUBG, FIFA, just to name a few. My participation in this event was in the e-games, PUBG.
In this event, since it is a sports game, leadership and teamwork skills are very crucial. Other than that, communication skills are also taken into account. Every game that requires to be played in a team involves leadership and teamwork skills, not to exclude e-games.
PUBG is popular shooting games that require four people in a team to fight with other teams. The team which I lead, "SICAINIAO" which means newbie in Chinese has taken second place in the game. The achievement was made, thanks to our teamwork and also communication skills. From here, I would like to appreciate all the effort made by the organizer, as well as my teammates.
After participating in that event, I learned that teamwork is important and crucial in order to achieve the target. Although this is just an E-Sport, teamwork is extremely important as playing games require tactic understanding between the team members. Besides, we also learnt how to communicate with one another during a critical time. When everyone becomes nervous during the game, as the team leader, I learnt to become calm all the time and think critically about how to overcome some problem. Of course, through practice, I have improved my critical thinking skills, especially in term of strategy planning.
One of the biggest challenges that I faced during the game is solving quarrel and misunderstanding between the teammate. Not to declined that everyone has their own opinion and own way to solve something. However, as a team, we must solve it together, with the agreement of all the members. As a team leader, I learnt how to solve the argument in a team.
