On 11 and 12 October 2019, Persatuan Mahasiswa Hindu UTM organized this event to spread Indian culture and traditions through competition among students and participants. This program has been held the past 21 years successfully. In this two day program various exciting competition and performances related to culture and tradition will take place. The competitions and performance will be based on 3 aspects of Tamil language which are music, writing and drama. This program is open for all institute of higher education students from Johore, Malacca , Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Besides that, there was also competitions held for primary and secondary students. This event was challenging because for the first time the event organizer decided to get participants from different states as it was completely different from previous years. All the committee member worked for almost more than 9 months to make this event a great success.
As a member in competition department,it was very challenging to me to give my part in this event. Competition departmanrt was playing a big role in this event as we have to create competition and their rules and at the same time deal with participants from different states. My part in this event was to create rules and flow of some of the activities. At the same time i was a leader for a competition in this event so i have to deal the participants from different universities.
There was many benefits that i gained from this event. Firstly, i had chances to develop my leadership skills which will be useful in daily life. Being a leader for a competition was quite challenging and i learn many things on how to conduct a successful program. Moreover, as i was dealing with participants from different universities, i manage to develop my communication skills that will be a helping hand for me when applying jobs. Furthermore, this event also boost up my confidences level which will motivate myself in my daily life. Before taking part in this event i was a bit nervous to deal with others but after this event i had confident on how to deal with people. In conclusion, although it was very challenging but at the end i am proud that i had been a part of this program. I realized that academic is not only way to make yourself better, by other skills we can also improve ourself to better person.
