Project 1 Reflection

During completing the project 1, I've leaned something valuable from it that can be use in my life in the future. One of it is I learned how to gather all the data needed to accomplish the project. There are two type of data, the first one is Primary Data which the data collected by interviewing, survey and etc. The second one is Secondary Data which data that has been gathered before by someone and it can be access by other people. In our project, we use survey as a medium to gather the data. This is because we want the data to be accurate as it can be. Plus, we can construct our questionnaire independently so that we can easily specify which data type are being use. As I mention before, Secondary data can be access by other people which mean, It can be change by anyone. Thus corrupt the data.

Other than that, I also learned how to describe the data using graphical tool such as Histogram, Box plot, and etc. This is the important part of the project. We have to turn the data into meaningful information, which mean, whenever someone see the data, they can understand what it is. There's a lot of tools that can be used but for our project, we are focusing on bar chart/pie chart, scatter plot, stem-and-leaf, box plot, frequency distribution and histogram. Apart from that, it is also important to carefully select a correct statistical tools to represent the data. For example, in our survey, the first question we ask the user is about their gender and we only give them two option, either a male or female. This type of data are not suitable to be represent using histogram as it is doesn't have the a value. So we use a bar chart instead so that other people can differentiate it. The biggest challenge when selecting the graphical reprensation is when we try to represent data using scatter plot. This is because we have to relate two data in one representation.

To summarize our project, I can say that our project success with flying colour as we manage to get conclusion for all objective stated before the project start. For example, one of our program objective is to know whether playing games will affect student's study performance and it turns out that regardless of the time spend on games, whether they spend a lot or less, students still manage to maintain their study performance to the very at least a good result. Apart from that, I also grateful to be included in this team to complete this project. The working environment are fascinating, all members help each other and not to forget, we manage to spot the problem occur in our project during the discussion. Nonetheless, it is a worth experience to be remember.
