Reflection /
Principle of Chemical Processes II

Assalamualaikum and welcome everyone...Cool

here the journey begins...hehe

well, I have through PCP 1 in the last semester,,now its going to be the second one..

First of all I'm so grateful that Assc Prof Dr Azeman Mustafa still teaching us.. he knows us better as he taught us last semester..Smile

We start our first class on 11th Sept,,as Dr said we will learn more about energy balance in PCP 2.We still using the same book Elementary Principle of Chemical Processes,,wooaa, this book isso thick i thought huhu..but this book assists me a lot..

From the book we continue from the Chapter 8, Balance On Non Reactive Process..hmm,the sounds of the chapter seems interesting, but it difficult to be understand well for me..

In this chapter, we learn about the important of reference state and hypothetical path. From my understanding, one must know about the changes in pressure at constant temperature and reverse in order to construct the path. Recall back the equation below,

Closed systemQ-W = ^U + ^KE + ^PE

Open system Q-W = ^H + ^KE + ^PE*note ^=delta Undecided

We also learn how to use the reference table from the book. From table B1, B2,B4, B7 until B8...hohoho..so many table to refer. Sensible heat and heat capacities is the most important to be understand in this chapter. One must know how to integrate Cp(heat capacity at constant pressure)..

To estimate heat capacities, we can use Kopp's rule. Inlet & Outlet  Table shuld be draw to assist you in calculation in energy balance. I also learn abaout a useful approximation for estimating ^Hv which is Watson's Correlation. Innocent

The worst part I think is Psychometric Chart hohoho... It takes time to understand this part better. It is important to know that the chart is only for water and dry air.Now I know how to find dry-bulb temperatue, absolute humidity, relative humidty, dew point, humid volume, wet-bulb temperature, specific enthaphy and enthalphy deviation,,

Last but not least adiabatic humidfication.I'm still getting into it, but one thing that I know that is humidfication add moisture to the air which increase the absolute humidity while dehumidification is remove moisture...

I think thats all for this chapter, the chapter looks easy but its hard actually to be understand.,Credits to Prof Dr Azeman who teach us well, even sometimes Im late attend the class, not doing assignment on time so that we can discuss in classother than doing the quiz huhuhu sory...Frown

Im hoping that I will doing it better next chapter, hoping the same thing to my groupmate assigment Syahmi Fadilah and Hisyamudin Hasran InshaAllah Smile

p/s:do prays for others an others wiil pray for you..ameen
