The first week lecture had been done. Thank you to my lecturer, Dr.Aznizam due to it. for the first week, Dr.Aznizam remind us about the equation on close and open system. Next, we also learned how to made assumptions for the systems. Next, we also learned how to write reference state  that include ( phase, temperature, pressure).  one new thing we learned is state properties do not depend on the path.

besides that, the main thing we learned through this week is to draw and label a hypothetical path. Dr,Aznizam remind us that hypothetical path only be used when there are phase changes. last thing we leaarned through the first  week is how to used table B.2 that used for integration formula.

Dr.Aznizam teached us how the procedure to calculate when there are phase changes (his objective for the the class). for example,if the inlet feed produced 2 difference phase.next he also taught us about estimation and corrrelation of latent heat. he remind us that latent heat must have its value ( means it can't be zero). for the first one is using trouton's rule  for non-polar liquids. we also can use chen's equation but the accuracy is only 2% compare to trouton's rule with 30% accuracy. besides that, we also can use watson's correlation which is require when there are two conditions.lastly Dr.aznizam teached us regarding kopp's rule that use for estimating heat capacity of solid or liquid. for using kopp's rule we have to refer table B.10

Hypothetical process path is constructed for phase changes except for water becuase the ethalpy of water is given in Table B5,B6,B7.

Reference states  can be quoted from Tables  (easy way) or choosen from inlet or outlet stream (hard way) of unit process.
