Graduate Success Attributes

Gratitude Success Attributes course aims to serve the need of the students to understand and apply the attribute of UTM graduate skills.This subject has taught us seven important values that each and every students should learn which are enterprising skills, adaptability skills, effective communications, scholarship, teamwork and also employability skills. Our lecturer always assigned us to do assignment and do presentations where it was a great learning process to make ourselves busy and take responsibility individually and as a group.

The assignment that was given has helped us all apply every aspect of our class lectures into action, in order to fulfil the requirements. Besides,We learn a lot about basic living skills and how to be prepared for our work life after degree. This course helps students overcome their fear of being social, open-minded and being a part of a team.

 

 

 

 

Science and Technology Thinking

Science & Technology Thinking course explores the development of science and technology in human civilisation from classical to modern.This subject is mostly about changes from science and technology by generation.Basically it also explains about Science which is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of explanations and predictions about nature and the universe. Technology is the collection of techniques, methods or processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation, or any other consumer demands.

In class,I have learned the holistic solutions to current issues, transformations and innovations, science and technology philosophies in the context of National Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy in line with Industry 4.0 development.Our lecturer have helped us on how to be prepared of assignments and most of it was professionally done.This was a great opportunity for other assignments and projects as well.

Malaysian Dynamic

Malaysian Dynamic is a subject that main about history.As a young Malaysian citizen we should know the history of our country and also know all the current issues that are happening.Understanding history helps build a nation, acts as instruments to build an identity which brings the spirit of patriotism & nationalism and also as a guide for us as we move into the future. 

In every class I will get to learn new things from lectures, for example my lecturer will explain about the issues that are currently happening and what we should do in solving it.This information would be helpful for future so that we would be prepared earlier.Our learning process in class are also done in games which is fun.For me ,I would get bored if the whole class is just doing theory about history, by having games makes me more understanding and it's a effective way of a learning process.

 

Programming Technique 1

Programming Technique mainly covers programming in the whole learning process.This subject is not just to type a program and get output but also also understanding programming language.Students are required to develop programs using C++ programming language, in order to solve simple to moderate problems. At first, we just learned the basics of programming. For example if-else statements, switch statements, looping, and all.

We did some assignments of programming in our semester 1. It taught us a great many deals about the techniques of programming as well as to how to program effectively. I also communicated with my teammate about these assignments and we shared a lot knowledge from one another. We taught each other about the techniques that we learned. As an example, I was good at functions and my teammate was good at structured data. So, we both shared our insights in this subject and successfully completed the assignment.

Just by memorizing the source codes, we cannot able to do code a program successfully. We need to think critically and must know how to apply the correct programming techniques in a problem. Otherwise, no matter what we code, the program will not run as it is supposed to be. Another thing is there is a lot of ways to produce a specified output but the catch is that you have to use the right technique in the code to produce the desired output. So, it is pivotal to learn all programming techniques that are available in this semester.

Digital Logic

From what I see through this semester, digital logic is the most challenging subject compared to others.This shows that we need put more effort and time to really learn this subject completely. Digital logic is important in programming, as well. Understanding digital logic makes complex decision making possible in programs.

We have learned alot about multiplexer, half adder, full adder, comparator and many more in chapter 6 where this chapter was a little challenging to understand. After labs that we went helped us by giving us a better understanding and a clear view on how those circuits work and what makes the circuits tick.

This course introduces the students to digital electronics and provides a broad overview of many important concepts, components, and tools.

In this class, we are thought about using logic to solve problems and how technology also uses basic human logic to solve complex problems.Truth tables, timing diagrams and circuits are the main thing used to solve problems is questions. 

Discrete Structure

Discrete structure was a quite challenging and fun subject for this semester.Mostly we learned about probability,permutations,combination, and many more.Mostly it contains calculating and determining the best answer. We had several tests throughout our semester and we learned a lot during that process. Our lecturer taught us the best way and solution to solve challenging questions.

Learning process for this subject helps me to be more attentive, calculative and critical when it comes to thinking. It also helps me in my problem-solving skills. As an example, a question may ask what is the probability of certain event happening given the probability of another event.This subject can also contrivance in our everyday daily life by calculation the probability risks of each of our actions. Surely we will not be able to calculate the exact probability of our success but at least we can know if we are on the winning side. This subject is not all numbers and calculations only. It also contains real world application.

Technology & Information System (TIS)

Information Systems is an academic study of systems with a specific reference to information and the
complementary networks of hardware and software that people and organizations use to collect, filter, process.
create and also distribute data.This subject is one of the basic that a student need which it is related to every
subject taken by IT students.

We get to learn about the many types of system units, softwares, hardwares, and so many other things. These
topics are very essential for us as computer science students because it can help us in getting a better
understanding of the tech world outside now.Through out my learning in this subject I have learned new things
with my project and several visit. For example the visit in CICT Gallerium where we were able to realise to focus
on our goals and dreams after being able to experience and hear about the evolution of technology in the last
couple of decades.Besides, this was particularly eye opening for us as we able to realise in depth as well an
opportunity for us to see how technology evolved in the past decades with Encik Zahari Who is the CICT staff.This was a wake up call for us to realise that nothing is impossible as long as we put our heart and soul into it.
