On the 7th December 2018, Okayama Ryukoku High School has visited UTM for a cultural exchange programme organized by the Centre of Innovative Planning Development Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying UTM. There were 200 students from the school that had participated in the programme. I have volunteered to be the facilitator forthe programme, and I was assigned six students from the mentioned school. Below is a picture of me and the students from Okayama Ryukoku High School.
What I have gained through this programme:
1. Japanese students that I was assigned to have poor proficiency in English but that didn't stop us from having fun that day, so i learned that language isn't a barrier, if you really want it to work, it can work out as long as you have the will to carry out your duty.
2. Communication using body language is key.
3. Teamwork with fellow facilitators to keep the programme going, and to handle problems that may happen throughout the programme.
One of the very best experience I had so far. Looking forward for more international related programmes in the future.
