Hello! :)
Good to be back here and spare some time to share unforgotten memories with everyone. It all started with a quick video presenting myself, interview and lastly, alhamdulillah selected to be a marketing committee of TEDxUTM2018. Oh by the way, have you heard about the event? Or this is your first time knowing about their existence? It is okay, I am more than happy to spread to let everyone know. To make it short, TEDxUTM is a platform which we provide for people that come from different background of expertise to share their experiences and knowledge during the event.
TEDxUTM2018 gave me such a good memory during my university life because it allows me to shine bright and spark with the help of a good environment. I have never thought that it able to polish a lot of soft skills in me and at the end of the day, I am able to be more confident and speak well when I am in front of a lot of people especially in English. For your information, I am the only Malay, Muslim female and the only representative from AHIBS in this program. I was at my lowest knowing that all the communication(e-mail, Whatsapp and meeting) will be in English since I am not fluent enough with the second language. By the way, our committee does not limit to local but international students too; Egypt, Indonesia and Pakistan.
Being in the marketing team and currently studying marketing, can relate so much. I still remember that I was in-charge in our physical marketing; roadshow of TEDxUTM2018. We went to certain places; PRZ's library, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Civil Engineering to promote and acknowledge people about TEDxUTM. We conduct two sessions of Kahoot in every each venue and gave the best gift such as our merchandise to the winners. During that time, to approach even a person seems so tough but day by day, I am able to personally approach and let them know what are we currently promoted without any help of other committees to keep me accompany.
Last but not least, I am so happy to be a part of them and meeting so many people from different faculties. I am so grateful that everyone is very kind and able to help whenever anyone in need of help. My teammate helps me a lot and they always make me feel "belong", well I guess it boosts my confidence and adapts so fast. I will cherish this memory forever and I hope everyone will be doing great in their future.
Love, Farahin.
