ISO: Quality Management System

Hi everyone! :D

I believe that everyone knows about UTM Professional Skills certificate which a student must attend all the 5 courses offered before graduating. Those courses are;

i) Quality Management System

ii) Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE)

iii) How to Manage Your Personal Finance

iv) How to Get Yourself Employed

v) Test of English Communication Skills for Graduating Students (TECS)

The first three courses are managed by UTMSPACE, the fourth is managed by Office of Undergraduate Studies meanwhile the last course is managed by Language Academy.

All praises to Him, yesterday, I managed to settle my last course which managed by UTMSPACE; ISO(Quality Management System) in my third year of studies. I feel relieved to be able to settle it all since next semester I will start my FYP1 and life will get busier. Among those courses, I think I enjoyed ISO the most. ISO does not relate much to my major, however, most of my subjects are, especially  Management, Principle of Marketing and Knowledge Management System.

I was taught by Assoc. Prof Wan Yusoff bin Wan Mahmood for two days. For day 1, we learnt the importance of ISO, the definition of customer, quality and quality management system, and the application of ISO & industrial based organizations. For day 2, he taught us clauses and interpretation of ISO requirement and establishing ISO for an organization.

As for me, these courses are very important for our employability in the future. Our future company might be interested in hiring us because we have the skills that do not belong to everyone. UTM should continue the professional course and maybe in future, the number of courses should be increased by time.
