Week 1-4

For the first 4 weeks of my internship at Jabil Circuit Sdn. Bhd. , I was attached to the the Multitest Workcell(Mechanical Workcell) , which assembles Pick and Pack Handlers.Pick and Place Handlers are robotic style machines that places electrical components precisely onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).My project was to make Visual Aids (VA) using Microsoft Power Point on the quality inspection of all the mechanical parts that are used to build the Pick and Place Handler. In the Visual Aid, i am required to identify all the critical parts of that are needed to be properly inspected by operators before proceeding to the assembly of the machine. In a month duration, i managed to create 38 Visual Aids  with the help of the technicians and engineers in the workcell.

I have learnt that communication skill plays an important role while working with experienced engineers and technicians as well as project management skills as i was given only a month duration to complete my project on the Visual Aids. Thank to Process economics and Project Management that i learnt , i manage to create a Gantt Chart to plan and to keep track on the Visual Aids and it was easier to drive my team members towards the deadline.

Week 5-8

During this period of time, i was attached to the LTX Workcell where all the PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) are produced. My daily routine is to monitor the process and the type of PCBs running in the production line. I also have to make sure that all the operators down at the production line follows the the Visual Aid provided while assembling the boards to avoid defects.Any defects that are captured during the quality inspection need to be recorded and reported to the Workcell Manager. According to Jabil Procedure, a corrective action and preventive action report need to be submitted for every defects taken place at the production line.I was included into the investigation team whenever a  defect occurs such as lifted pad, missing component and component knock-off.During my attachment at the LTX Workcell, i have helped to create a total of 3 Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report.

Week 9-12

I was taught on how to create weekly yield report of the company using the Macro-Enabled Excel Workbook. The Site Quality Manager of Jabil Plant 3, assigned me to create weekly yield report for the Multitest Workcell, which include defect charts and serial number charts. I got the opportunity to learn and explore more functions of the Microsoft Excel.

All in all, i would like to thank to all of my colleagues for making my internship a superb experience.
