My final year projects aims to realize of a water quality monitoring system for Aquaponics system. The device is mainly used to monitor the water quality for both plants and fishes in an Aquaponics system. The main purpose of this project is to propose a reliable idea on developing a water quality monitoring system for Aquaponics purpose which can be monitored by the user at anytime, anywhere. The quality of water plays an extremely important role in the system of aquaponics. Hence, this project includes the concept of integrating several essential sensors suitable for aquaponics monitoring such as pH sensor to monitor the pH value (pH), temperature sensor to monitor temperature, and the electrical conductivity sensor to monitor the conductivity of the water (EC) which indirectly measures the health of the entire system. In this research, the microcontroller proposed is the Arduino series controller which is easy to manipulate and control. The processing of data executed by Arduino Uno and C programming language is to create data acquisition program as well as data viewing for users. Each sensor will be properly programmed into Arduino IDE to analyze the parameters detected by the sensors respectively. The sensors will be integrated into a simple module suitable for water monitoring. At the same time, Wi-Fi module will be used for communication between the Arduino and the mobile application for monitoring purpose. Wi-Fi module will be programmed and data from the Arduino will be transferred to cloud for storage. Blynk app is built for android and IOS operating system to act as a platform to retrieve data from cloud storage for monitoring. The result of the data will indicate the overall health of the Aquaponics system to the user.
