On 2 September 2020, there were held one class for student industrial training who under Dr. Umi Aisah and Dr. Ong Pei Ying regarding on How to Write by Dr. Umi. The class only for one hour, started at 9.30 in the morning until 10.30. The main objective of this class was to teach student on how to apply the writing skills on their thesis, project, research or something related with the writing for the future.

            The basic for all types of writing were same which are introduction, body and conclusion. For introduction, there were explanation on what the writing about. While for the body, there were several sections which are literature review, methodology, result and discussion. Last but not least, the conclusion for overall of the paper or writing.

            In introduction or background study, it should be general information for the main topic of the writing and explain it further for the reader’s information. The explanations should be in flow and linking to each other. It also same to the body of the writing. For each paragraph, it should start with the opening that related to the main point of the writing and it need to be explain further or elaborate more. Then, there should have pre-closing and sum up for the topics on that paragraph before enter the new topics. But, pre-closing not necessary which it almost same with the sum up for that paragraph.

            Other than that, about an abstract which it is the summary of the whole paper. In the abstract, there should have introduction of the topic, problem statement, objective which the general one, carry out work or method and conclusion. In this conclusion, it should be clear which we need to write the exact value of the result that been achieved. Then, there was one question from one of industrial training student regarding to the literature review on how to write the literature review for project paper or research. Any information, theory or method which related with our thesis need to include in the literature review.

Freeze Dried Pineapple

My supervisor give one task on Rehydration of Freeze Dried Fruits by using pineapple and jackfruits freeze dried which been produced by ICA. The task was carried out to measure the quality of dry food’s product from ICA. 

• The method that been used for this experiment as followed:
  1. Weighed, recorded and labelled the sample in petri dish.
  2. Pour 5mL of distilled water to the samples and let the sample absorbed the water for 5 minutes. This step repeated for three samples to get the average.
  3. Step 1 and 2 were repeat for different time taken which are 10 and 15 minutes.

This experiment need to be recorded to observed the physical change on freeze dried fruits.

Studied on how to do a calibration curve and how to used ELISA spectrometer with assisted by Nurliza. ELISA spectrometer used to calculate the concentration of the sample by plotted the graph.

Sample Ulam Raja mixed with methanol with different percentage

I helped one of Dr. Ong's PHD student, Nurliza on her project entitled "Ulam Raja extraction Ultrasonic assisted extraction technique (Direct method)". On the first step, mixed the Ulam Raja with water and different concentrations of methanol (20%, 50%, 80%) to observe which suitable range can be used and dried it in solvent concentrator. Higher the concentration of methanol, faster the solution dried rather than water due to boiling point of the methanol lower than boiling point of water. 

19 JULY 2020

First day on my industrial training at Innovation Centre of Agritechnology For Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA). All the staff at the ICA were kind and friendly.  It make me easier to adapt into new environment. The scope of works that been assigned to me as a project research assistant under my supervisor, Dr. Ong Pei Ying. The tasks that been done were doing literature review, lab work, attending workshop and dealing with industrial members.

On first of Jun 2018, we class of thermodynamics 1213 section 2 held a presentation. The presentation should be held on a week before first of Jun, but it been delayed. The caused why it been delayed I would not told you.. Hahaha. Let it be secret between us. But, the presentation had running smoothly as we wish. Thanks to our lecturer, Prof Masafumi Goto to look our presentation on that day. So, our presentation end sharp on the time that been given.

          22 May 2018

On this day, it was my first time to communicated and been teach by Japanese lecturer. I am more surprised, when she can talk in Malay. Even not fluently, but in only 2 months she study to communicate in Malay. Her name given is Watanabe Riho. She is cheerful person and she rich with smile. She also friendly person. My friends and I easy to been closed with her even we never know each other before. We honored to welcomed her to teach us again next time. Thank you,  Sensei.

This picture is the first picture that had been captured when I enter UTMKL. Even this college is not my first choice, but I appreciated it that I had been choose by MJIIT UTMKL to continue my studies. People in this picture are from my previous study's place which is Matriculation in Melaka. I does not believe in the first place that, all this people in this picture are same place as me at matriculation. I thought, I am the only one from Matriculation Melaka enter MJIIT UTMKL. So, this picture is the prove my start of journey in university live.
