On October 22, 2022, I began my journey as a first-time visitor at the UNBOCS Carnival at Dewan Sultan Ibrahim, UTM, which marked my entry into the vivid tapestry of university life. Choosing to attend the event was a deliberate decision, motivated by a desire to explore diverse interests, build a sense of belonging, and actively contribute to the campus environment. The event allowed me to engage with other groups and societies, revealing a plethora of opportunities beyond my academic endeavors.
The event, with its emphasis on interpersonal skills, teamwork, and networking, provided an exciting setting for my first journey into these critical components of personal and professional development. As a first-time participant, I was thrilled to enjoy the energetic culture that promoted adaptability and originality. Participating in interactive booths, workshops, and performances broadened my perspective and immersed me in the rich culture of campus life. The event was more than simply an event; it was a starting point for a new chapter, a place where I could traverse the dynamic landscape of student life and make connections that would influence my university experience.
Self-Reflection
Reflecting on my first UNBOCS Carnival experience, I realized that it was a transforming trip. Networking with various student groups not only improved my interpersonal skills but also gave me a good peek into the different tapestry of perspectives that university life has. My social disposition proved to be an excellent asset, allowing me to easily interact with other groups and contribute to the lively atmosphere.
Managing time effectively amidst the abundance of events proved difficult yet rewarding. Setting priorities and creating a schedule helped me make the most of the event. Seeking advice from more experienced players became a key component of my learning process, providing ideas that stretched beyond the event.
The challenges I had throughout the event served as stepping stones for my personal and academic improvement. The UNBOCS Carnival, in essence, provided a welcome entry into UTM's diverse and lively community, leaving an indelible impression on my first-time participation experience.
