My involvement as a participant in the UTM ESPORTS film COMPETITION 2.0 went beyond simple creative expression, it was a critical endeavor to create an immersive esports film for Instagram and TikTok's discriminating audiences on 3 March 2023. Although my position did not include committee involvement, my commitment to artistic innovation contributed significantly to the event's overall success.
Participating in this competition was based on a deep passion for esports, which provides an exclusive platform for combining innovation and creativity. The competition, with its primary focus on honing essential graduate traits such as communication, creativity, and teamwork, evolved into an environment where I could demonstrate my abilities and engage in a dynamic debate with like-minded peers.
The process of creating my video turned into a symphony of debate and collaboration, weaving a story that went beyond simple entertainment. It aims to depict a day in the life of an esports enthusiast to not only entertain but also educate and develop a feeling of camaraderie within the UTM esports community.
Self-Reflection
Reflecting on this transforming journey, the UTM ESPORTS VIDEO COMPETITION 2.0 stands out as a source of deep personal and academic improvement. Navigating the complex landscape of video production, my participation not only polished vital cooperation and time management skills but also served as a canvas for exploring successful communication tactics through peer collaboration.
My expertise in video editing and narrative served as a foundation, giving me a distinct advantage in conveying the dynamic nature of esports. However, amid the creative exhilaration, the issue was to balance academic duties with the competition's deadline. This emphasized the need for rigorous scheduling and the vital insights gained from constructive peer input.
This journey demonstrated my resilience, adaptability, and organizational skills. Each frame of the competition was etched into my graduate qualities, creating a tale rich in novel strengths and insights. The UTM ESPORTS VIDEO COMPETITION 2.0, which went beyond the scope of a simple contest, is now a defining chapter in my academic and artistic journey, demonstrating the deep importance of experiential learning on personal and professional development.
Taking part in events like these has significantly helped me develop important skills as a student. I gained valuable insights into teamwork during the ceremony, and being part of the ultras team improved my ability to collaborate with others. Participating in the ultras also taught me how to motivate my teammates effectively. In essence, these activities have played a crucial role in shaping me into a more well-rounded individual, providing skills that are incredibly useful for both my personal and professional growth.
