Mini Report: Joining the MASSA Mental Health Awareness Program was a conscious decision driven by a desire to contribute to destigmatizing mental health issues. The focus on Communication Skills was evident as I actively participated in discussions and shared insights during the online meeting. Thinking Skills were honed through critical reflections on mental health challenges, while Scholarship was emphasized through the acquisition of accurate information. The program's content was rich and diverse, encompassing personal stories, expert talks, and interactive sessions to foster a comprehensive understanding of mental health.
Self-reflection: Participating in the mental health awareness program significantly impacted the development of my Communication Skills as I engaged in open and empathetic discussions. My strength in Leadership and Teamworking Skills was an advantage during group activities focused on planning and executing awareness campaigns. Challenges included addressing the emotional aspects of mental health discussions, which I overcame by fostering a supportive and understanding environment within the group. The program enhanced my Global Citizen attribute by broadening my perspective on mental health challenges worldwide, and it fueled my Enterprising Skills by inspiring innovative approaches to advocate for mental health.
