As the Vice Director of the UTM Chinese Debate Team, I have a responsibility to nurture new debaters and introduce more people to the enjoyable world of debating.
Our primary focus in developing graduate attributes lies in teaching participants to collaborate effectively in a short timeframe, find relevant and useful information, and employ defensive and offensive skills on the debate stage.
The activity involves a one-minute preparation period to outline our arguments, followed by a two-minute presentation of our viewpoints. The rest of the team is responsible for recording and engaging in a questioning phase, where we collectively work on attacking and defending our positions.
