1. Program Information:
Majlis Sambutan Hari Akademia Peringkat Kebangsaan, which took place on 31 October 2022 at the Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Prof Dato' Dr Husaini Omar, the Director General of Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi. The occasion brought together numerous distinguished academicians from universities across Malaysia.
2. Graduate Attributes:
The program aimed to provide an avenue for students to showcase their appreciation and gratitude to the academicians who have contributed to their academic journey. Through their talents and performances, the students expressed their gratitude towards their lecturers and mentors.
3. Position/Role in the Program:
My role in the program was as a solo singer in the choir team. It was an honor to represent my university and the collaborative effort between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), our choir team represented the collective talent and dedication of students from these universities.
4. Mini Report:
Participating in the Majlis Sambutan Hari Akademia Peringkat Kebangsaan was a remarkable experience. It provided an excellent platform for networking with academicians from various institutions across Malaysia. The event allowed us to showcase our talents and express our gratitude towards the academic community.
Despite having limited time for preparation, with only one day of rehearsal on the same day as the performance, our collaboration with UKM, UTM and USIM students in the choir performance was successful. The combined efforts and dedication of all the students involved made the performance a memorable one. The harmonious melodies and synchronized voices created a captivating and meaningful performance that resonated with the audience.
5. Self-Reflection:
Being part of this program provided me with several valuable insights. Firstly, the importance of teamwork and effective communication was evident throughout the rehearsals and the performance itself. Despite the limited time for preparation, our collaborative efforts allowed us to overcome challenges and deliver a memorable performance.
Secondly, the experience highlighted the significance of networking and establishing connections within the academic sphere. Interacting with academicians and professionals from various institutions expanded my understanding of different fields and potential opportunities for future collaborations.
