Self-Reflection:
I learned a lot from the Youth Development course's service-learning component. As an assistant secretary for Dr. Mohd Rashid Bin Abd Rahup during week 5, I got the chance to help plan an event in Benut. I was able to better grasp and apply the topics we were studying in class because to the practical experience I had via this course. In addition, I am glad for the wonderful experience of being able to participate to a local event. Overall, I think that service learning is an excellent kind of education, and I'm grateful that this course gave me the opportunity to partake in it.
I am pleased with the contribution I performed as a member of the technical team when I think back on the event day. It was a great feeling to watch everything come together without any problems because I was in charge of the setup. Being a part of the event was a pleasure, and it was a success. It was a wonderful chance to use my knowledge and abilities and watch it come to life. At 5 o'clock, the event came to a conclusion, and I was proud of myself. I learned a lot from the event, which gave me the chance to advance and improve my technical abilities. It also aided in my comprehension of how crucial cooperation, communication, and attention to detail are to effective event planning. I am thankful for the chance to participate in the event since it provided a wonderful opportunity for me to put what I have learned in class and in practice to use. This experience, in my opinion, will be helpful to me in my future pursuits.
When I think back on my time as an international student doing the Youth Development course, I see that one of the difficulties I had was interacting with my fellow students and the professor, both of whom spoke and conversed in Malay. I found it challenging to fully engage in class discussions and group projects since I don't speak the language well. However, I was able to get over this obstacle with the assistance and encouragement of my classmates, particularly my professor. They were kind to me and took the time to explain everything in terms I could comprehend. In a safe and accepting environment, they also pushed me to speak out and improve my language abilities.
I appreciate their assistance and encouragement since it made it possible for me to engage completely in the class and better comprehend the subject matter. I've learned the value of asking for assistance and being willing to pick up knowledge from others through this experience. It also demonstrated to me the advantages of participating in an inclusive and varied learning environment. Overall, this was a worthwhile experience that advanced my intellectual and personal development.
