My PSDA Reflections

I would like to begin my reflection by saying all praise belongs to Allah for it is Him who gave us His blessings in all matters, throughout the completion of this semester and the execution of the tasks that we were given. I also would like to give my biggest thanks and appreciation for my lecturer of SECI2143-02 PROBABILITY STATISTICS AND DATA, Dr. Nor Azizah Ali for giving her students guidance and displaying utmost dedication in her role as our educator. I have learned a considerable some from this course, in short I have gained a deeper understanding on types of data as well as the methodology of statistical analysis.

As part of this subject's Course Learning Outcome, Project 1 was given to us in order to utilise and familiarise ourselves with skillsets that we have just learned. This involves using RStudio and Microsoft Excel software to analyse a primary dataset that we as a group created via Google Form surveys. Our chosen topic was to investigate the Effects of Social Media on University Students. Hence we targeted mostly university students, blasting our survey links on multiple social media platforms and group channels to gain sufficient data ( >= 60 respondents). I was involved in creating the survey as well as analysing certain variables of our questionnaires to distill useful information in the final report. We divided our workloads fairly evenly because of the simple nature  of the task, but it was valuable experience indeed because it was the first time we had to create our own R scripts from scratch. Through trial and error, I managed to create the desire graphs and charts along with the summaries that are required.

While in Project 2, we were required to conduct an inference statistical analysis that cover hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, goodness of fit test and chi square test of independence for a dataset of our choosing. We settled with one that is all too familiar with us as Malaysians which is Car-Related Road Accidents in Malaysia (2010-2021). In this group project, I was assigned with helping with data cleaning and handling the regression analysis of our dataset. It was getting easier and more 2nd nature to make use of R Programming and Excel to analyse our data. A lot of the statistical/inferential methods we learned were also put into good use in this project.

To wrap things up, I would like to say that I was satisfied with how my team mates and I worked well as a group, and with how I've grown as a person after just a short period of time. This is certainly due to the brilliant tutorship of our lecturer, Dr. Nor Azizah Ali as well as the design of our tasks which encouraged us to practice and develop our communications and teamworking skills in order to successfully go through our coursework.
