INTERVARSITY YOUTH STARTUP COMPETITION & SUMMIT (IYSCS)

ORGANISER: SYMBIOSIS, UTM Entrepreneur club, PESAT & UTHM

POSITION: HOD ACTIVITY UNIT

Young entrepreneurs face various barriers. One of the main barriers that young entrepreneurs face is a lack of knowledge and experience. Many young people may have great ideas, but they may not know how to turn those ideas into successful businesses. This is where education and training programs can play a crucial role. By providing young people with the skills and knowledge they need to start and run a successful business, we can help to break down this barrier and encourage more young people to become entrepreneurs.

Another barrier that young entrepreneurs face is access to finance. Many young people may struggle to secure the funding they need to start their businesses. This can be due to a lack of collateral, a lack of credit history, or a lack of experience in managing finances. By providing young entrepreneurs with access to funding and financial management resources, we can help to remove this barrier and enable them to get their businesses up and running.

To provide them with the opportunity to assess the entrepreneurial spirits of the students, this program specifically aims to gather all students from different universities for a 3-day event.

ORGANISER: BIOMEHS UTM

POSITION: Treasurer

This event aims to support mental health and bring awareness to the issues faced by so many people, especially students. A survey done by National Health and Morbidity 2015 found that the prevalence of mental health problems among adults in Malaysia has increased from 10.7% in 1996, to 11.2% in 2006, to 29.2% in 2015. Moreover, one in 10 individuals in 2011 to one in five in 2016 cases reported are among Malaysian students. Knowing the reality, the urge to increase the quality of lives among students has become a priority. To be precise, this program intends to congregate all students not only from the School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Science but also students from various schools in different faculties in UTM, ranging from first-year to senior students in a 4-weeks duration event to give them chances to know closer about their mental well-being. Apart from these, the program also aspires to foster good support systems among students as well as give the exposure on how to self-heal. RESUME & INTERVIEW WORKSHOP

ORGANISER: BIOMEHS UTM

POSITION: TREASURER

Resume and Interview are very important preparations that all graduates need to master before starting their Internship after Graduation. Therefore, all graduates who want to master the job or Internship in the companies named after them must have a unique resume and talent in their interview that can reflect the potential and talent of the graduates. Oral skills and good communication skills can help graduates to have a high confidence brush that increases the brand's chances of being placed for work.

Realizing the lack of exposure of graduates in this context, our Association would like to hold a Workshop entitled "Resume and Interview Workshop" involving the involvement of 3rd Year and final-year students who will hold an Internship or start a job at the end of the semester. Through this Program, various important things will be taught and emphasized in the things that a graduate needs to master in a Resume or Interview. This program will also be a mind opener for students to start their preparation to produce a First Class Resume and show an excellent attitude in their Interview Session.
