On 29 and 30 November 2019, Sekretariat Pesta Tanglung Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (PTUTM) organized the 22nd Mooncake Festival and Cultural Night "Ming Juan•Cheng Yi". This was the annual large-scale event organized by PTUTM. The objectives of this activity is to promote and perpetuate Chinese culture. Cultural inheritance is important as it provides us with narratives of a collective identity.
As I was the Formal Emcee for the event, I have to welcome our esteemed guests, and to portray and promote our event theme for the two consecutive nights. Since there were different guests for both nights, my partner and I have to always be cautious about the attendance of guests as they might not be attending due to other affairs. Besides, we also have to cue for the traditional performance which were the essence to be portrayed to the public about the chinese culture.
Before the opening ceremony ends, we have to invite our esteemed guest on stage to receive the souvenirs prepared by the committee to appreciate their attendance. Also, we also have to award the prize to the winners for the photography contest held on that night.
