Service learning in the form of the Youth Development course has proven to be an incredibly enriching and valuable experience for me. The course provided me with a unique opportunity to work closely with the renowned Dr. Mohd Rashid Bin Abd Rahup in organizing a community event in the town of Benut during the fifth week of the course. This hands-on experience was incredibly beneficial as it allowed me to take the knowledge and skills I had acquired in the classroom and apply them to real-world situations, thus enhancing my understanding of the material. Moreover, being able to contribute to a community event was a truly fulfilling and rewarding experience that I am extremely grateful for. The chance to give back and make a positive impact on others was truly priceless. The service learning approach to education was a refreshing change from the traditional lecture-style format and allowed me to actively engage with my studies in a meaningful and practical way.
Reflecting on the event day
I feel a great sense of pride for my involvement as a member of the technical team. I was responsible for overseeing the setup, and it was incredibly satisfying to see everything come together without any issues. The event was a resounding success, and I was honored to be a part of such an important and well-executed event. This was a fantastic opportunity to put my skills and knowledge to the test and see them in action. At the end of the day, I felt a strong sense of accomplishment. This event was also a valuable learning experience, helping me to grow and develop my technical abilities. Furthermore, it reinforced the significance of teamwork, effective communication, and attention to detail when organizing successful events. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply what I have learned in class and in practice, and I believe that this experience will be invaluable in my future endeavors. The event provided me with a unique and practical education, and I am proud to have been a part of such a successful event.
Reflection on overall experience
The youth development course has been a life-altering experience for me, bringing about a profound change in the way I see myself and the world around me. Prior to enrolling in the course, I was an international student feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of adjusting to a new environment and culture. I was filled with uncertainty and self-doubt, but the youth development course offered me the support and resources I needed to succeed.
Through the course, I had the opportunity to learn alongside my peers, who not only taught me valuable lessons but also welcomed me into the group with open arms. This made me feel like a part of the community and alleviated some of my initial fears. The encouragement and guidance I received from my classmates were instrumental in helping me navigate the challenges of being an international student, and I am grateful for the positive impact they have had on my life.
In addition to the support, I received from my peers, the youth development course was also instrumental in equipping me with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of the world and pursue my aspirations. The lessons and activities I participated in were engaging and thought-provoking, and they helped me develop essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These skills will be invaluable as I continue on my journey through life. Another added bonus of the course was the friendships I formed with my classmates. These relationships are not just limited to our time in the course, but will continue to grow and flourish as we move forward. The connections I have made with my classmates are a testament to the power of the youth development course, and I am thankful for the positive impact they have had on my life.
In conclusion, I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to participate in the youth development course. It has been a transformative experience, and I am eager to continue using what I have learned to shape my future. I am confident that the skills, knowledge, and relationships I have acquired through the course will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Arabic culture Night
17th December was an amazing night for me. That night Arabic community arranged a cultural program. It was organize in the Dewan Sultan Iskander Hall. This event was about to know their culture, tradition, food. It was so exciting to know different culture. In the event different Arabic countries represent their traditions. They present their cultural dance, songs, dresses. At the end of the program, they arranged a traditional dinner for the guest. The taste of the food was amazing. This was a memorable event for me I learn about different culture, meet with new people and make new friends.
Global Village Tentative
On November 26, 2022, UTM held one of its best events to date. Students, faculty, and staff were all invited to join and learn about different cultures, nations, and lifestyles from around the world. UTM provided a platform for students to showcase their talents through cultural performances and demonstrations. Additionally, the university organized a multitude of courses and activities to better educate students on international issues and challenges. The Global Village celebration was a great opportunity for the UTM community to come together and celebrate the campus's diversity and culture. Our team represented Bangladesh and its traditions, such as food, clothing and religion. We were proud to be able to place first in the dance competition and second in the Bangladeshi stall. It was amazing to be able to see different countries' stalls and sample their cuisine. The atmosphere was truly electric.
Storytelling and Poem Recitation Night
On 13th November, the ISSBD organized a Storytelling and Poem Recitation Night, which was held in Dewan Sri Perdana. Bangladeshi students were asked to volunteer and tell stories, with the goal of providing real-life experiences. This event served as an excellent opportunity to meet new people, learn about other cultures and experiences, and have a good time. There may have been a theme to the stories or an open forum, and audience members were encouraged to ask questions, comment, and applaud the stories. After the storytelling, the ISSBD provided a BBQ, with delicious chicken. This was a great way to get to know people more deeply and to hear different perspectives on the same topic. Everyone was inspired by the stories and it was an overall wonderful experience. Those who participated were grateful for the chance to share their stories and be recognized for them.
The approach to finishing the AWS was difficult at first, but as I watched the videos, it became easier. I had no previous knowledge of AWS, but after finishing all of the modules, it became clear what AWS was and how it can benefit a variety of businesses. We had to create tests after watching each lesson, and we also had to complete lab exercises that helped us comprehend the topic better.
The Technology and Information Systems Course taught me a lot. Our lecturer was quite pleasant and helpful. I improved my soft skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, computer skills, and creative and critical thinking abilities. AWS, cloud computing, , communication, and teamwork were among the topics I learned about. Now I understand the significance of teamwork. My ambition to become a successful business programmer has always been strong. Due to the importance of computers in practically every area, software engineering is well-known in the field of information technology. So now I'm looking to better my skills and expand my knowledge.
