AWS Academy Cloud Foundations Reflection
It is a great addition. You get some fundamental understanding about AWS and its Web Services. I would have learned more practical work than theory though. I wanted to learn more on what I can do with it and maybe some mini projects.
If given the opportunity and free time, I would want to get more knowledge regarding cloud computing. I would love some good resources for it though. I would also like to take the cloud practitioner certification exam.
If the course feels boring, take breaks. You do not have to go through the entire course in one go. You will learn something new. Does that not motivate you?
Yes, it is an essential skill for everyone in the IT sector and hobbyists. It does not take too much time to learn the fundamentals.
Depends. Small business companies or companies with infrastructures that do not depend on technology have no use of Cloud Computing and may even suffer a loss, because migrating to a cloud infrastructure is very costly. But an established company, a startup IT company or massive content distribution services would benefit a ton. They should definitely switch over to Cloud Computing.
Yes, it has a lot. I have learnt about the definition, advantages, scopes and use cases of Cloud Computing. I think the emphasis was on learning about the Amazon Web Services and their basic usage. I think I have grasped all of that, so I have definitely broadened by knowledge / skills.
Well, it depends. You can get the badge by being committed to actually learn or you can get it by memorizing everything. When the former is done, the badge shows you have worked hard and you are committed to learn new things. The badge proves that you know the fundamentals of Amazon Web Services.
Getting this badge requires patience and consistent work. The course hours are 20, but you are guaranteed to take longer than that if you want to learn. The easiest module for me was module 1 (Introduction to cloud services) and module 6 (Compute). The hardest module was module 9.
My motivation to learn this course was I wanted to learn new stuff. I'm very interested in VMs and VPNs, hence I was very interested to know about EC2 and VPC. Maybe I can use them in the future.
I've learnt about the fundamentals of cloud computing. I have learnt about the core AWS web services, identified their usage, learnt about their benefits and I have also gained some experience by doing labs using these web services. The ones that caught my attention more are EC2, VPC and S3.
