Reporting:
The school of computing has organized an SC Industry talk webinar to discuss current Augmented Reality trends in the industry. The speaker is Dr. Ruzimi Mohamed. The webinar's key aspects are industry 4.0, the digital transformation of manufacturing/production, related sectors, and value creation processes.
In the beginning, Dr. Ruzimi briefly explained the four INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. First, he talked about the beginning of the industrial revolution, which is the Mechanization of manufacturing with steam and water power. Secondly, he spoke of the second revolution, mass production, assembly lines using electrical energy. Also, he explained the first project in the second revolution, Mass production, which is car learning. Then he moved to the third revolution, which is Automated production using electronics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), IT systems, and robotics. Lastly, in this part, he talked about the fourth and the last revolution, which is the Autonomous decision-making of cyber-physical systems using machine learning through cloud technology. After this, Dr. Ruzimi has mentioned the nine Digital Industrial Technologies that Augmented Reality is part of them. These nine Industrial are Autonomous Robots, Simulation, System Integration, Industrial Internet of Things, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality, and, lastly, Big Data and Analytics. Finally, he talked about the World Economic Forum 2015 Prediction by 2025, Which predicted that 10% of people would be wearing clothes connected to the Internet, there will be one Trillion sensors connected to the Internet, 10% of reading glasses will be Internet-connected, and 80% of the world's population will have an Internet presence and a lot of other prediction that he mentioned about.

Then Dr. Ruzimi talked about The Future of Augmented Reality Expected revenue by industry by 2025. That will be $ 11.6 BILLION on Video Games, $ 5.1 BILLION Healthcare, and many other predictions. Then he played a video talking about The Future of Augmented Reality in 10 Use Cases which are Education, Appliances, Furniture, & Other Large Products, Clothing & Fashion, JARVIS-Like Virtual Assistance, The Creation of The Metaverse, Outdoor & Indoor Navigation, Healthcare, Automotive Industry, Sporting Events and lastly Virtual User Instructions & Assembly Instructions. Then he talked about the 10 Skills for Future Jobs – IR 4.0. These are Complex problem solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity, People Management, coordinating with others, Emotional intelligence, Judgment and decision-making, service orientation, negotiation, and Cognitive flexibility. After that, he discussed 6 Common positions in Augmented Reality work. Most augmented reality jobs available today are best described as existing job titles with an AR descriptor. Typical roles include (AR/VR content developer, AR/VR content strategist, AR/VR user experience designer, Designer animator or sound artist specializing in AR & VR, AR/VR community manager, AR/VR project manager). Then he talked about three key areas where humans beat machines that are key to future job creation: creative endeavors, everything from scientific discovery to creative writing and entrepreneurship, social interaction. Finally, he mentioned that robots don't have the emotional intelligence that humans do. The last area where humans beat machines is Physical agility and mobility, millennia of hiking mountains, swimming lakes, and dancing practice gives humans extraordinary agility physical dexterity.

Responding:
I believe the webinar has discussed significant points related to the Augmented Reality field. So, I will respond to the most critical statements from my opinion made by Dr. Ruzimi, which are crucial. The first point that I want to respond to is the consideration that the person should consider when choosing his career; I think the point the Dr. Ruzimi mentioned is the most critical point in the talk from my opinion what makes me feel this way is that I remember when I graduated from the high school, I spent a lot of time searching about fields trying to choose an area that I like and in the same time it is a good field which will make me find a job in the future and grow up in my career I searched a lot about this thing. I had read many articles to decide which field I was going to study until finally, I decided that I would study Software Engineering. So, after I attended this talk, I hoped that I knew these things at that time. Dr. Ruzimi has mentioned the most important five things to consider when choosing your career, which is first, Study data science and get a job in data, secondly, choose a job that robots still cannot do OK – focus on jobs that require skills like creativity, problem-solving and connecting with people on a human level. The third thing is to keep in touch with the job market to get an insight into which jobs are in demand and their average salary. The fourth consideration is being data-savvy and learning how to use data to make decisions and solve problems. And the fifth and last important consideration is to get familiar with artificial intelligence.
Relating:
Webinar insightful notions were not all new to me personally. However, in this webinar, the discussion was mainly about Augmented Reality. In the last four months, I have been interested in the field of XR. In general, XR refers to Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, or Mixed Reality. Then I have searched a lot about this field, and I have read many articles to know more about this field. So, after a lot of research, I understood more about Augmented Reality, and it is the field that most attracted me among these three. Then the new semester began, which is my sixth semester, and I am taking my final year project one this semester. So, I had to decide the idea of the project and give the proposal to make my last year's project something related to Augmented Reality.
Reasoning:
The webinar highlighted many significant factors that should be considered as a person interested in the Augmented Reality field. Which are the problems that may face the Augmented Reality developer while working? As Dr. Ruzimi said, it is not a problem that will face just developers. These problems will face the Augmented Reality field in general, and if this field is going to be as Dr. Ruzimi expected in the future, the developers in this field have to overcome these problems. One of these problems is the plane finding the smartphone-specific process by which ARCore determines where surfaces are in your environment and uses those surfaces to place and orient digital objects. ARCore looks for clusters of feature points that appear on joint horizontal or vertical surfaces, like tables or walls, and makes these surfaces available to your app as planes. ARCore can also determine each plane's boundary and make that information available to your app. You can use this information to place virtual objects resting on flat surfaces.
Reconstructing:
So, at the end of this talk, I can say that I have gained a lot of information about an essential field like Augmented Reality, which I am very interested in. And I have made a clear vision of the future and what I should have learned and improved myself to grow up in my career in this field.
In a nutshell, the webinar was informative and insightful in many aspects ranging from digital
transformation to Augmented Reality.
