The justification in joining the activities is that I wanted to cultivate exercise habits by this morning fun run activity. As FUN RUN SUSKOM’20 is one of the activities included in the SUSKOM event, I could show my support as one of the members under the club and get to know some places in School of Computing during the running journey. Also, the activity reminded me of the importance of having a healthy body through the exercise habits.
FUN RUN SUSKOM’20 was organized on 7th March 2020 (Saturday) from 7.00am to 10.00am at N28A, School of Computing. Qualification for participation was opened for all UTM students and there were committee members around to help participants in inquiries. On the activity day, participants registered themselves in front of the N28A building starting from 7 o’ clock. At half past seven, there was a warming up session where all participants were gathered to do aerobics under the guidance of committee members accompanied by brisk and lively music. The activity flagged off at 7.50am and participants managed to finish the run by 8.45am. Then, finishers medal was awarded to the participants that completed the run within range 1 to 5 respectively for men and women categories. After that, closing ceremony was held and there was a group photo-taking session. With that marked the end of the FUN RUN SUSKOM’20 event.
The UTM Graduate Attributes related to the activity conducted are communication skills, leadership and teamworking skills and global citizen. Communication skills are reflected when participants ask enquiries to the committee members regarding the activity flow and committee members obtain activity reviews from participants. On the other hand, leadership and teamworking skills are noticed among the organizer team members as they are assigned to carry out duties included in the task scope. Participants also help each other during the activity where we share the activity information with friends in the discussion group when there is any doubt from the participants. While in the aspect of global citizen, all UTM students are qualified to enroll themselves in this meaningful activity and this reflects the atmosphere of cultivating exercise habits in students on a worldwide scale.
