The participation in this program as a treasurer brings a lot of positive impacts towards developing my graduate attributes such as communication skills, team working skills and adaptability. The communications skills are being cultured during the discussion among the committee members. I have to express myself clearly in terms of delivering my suggestion about the progress of the program. For instance, I justify on the amount of cash rewards to be given to the mentors so that it wouldn't exceed the budget set. Other than that, I also learn more about team working, especially on how the responsibilities are being distributed among the committee members to facilitate the progress of the program. To illustrate, I am responsible for handling money-related matters like budget and cash rewards while there is registration team who is in charge of preparing the registration form and feedback form. In terms of adaptability, I adapt myself to the virtual working environment and this new team although I am not familiar with them. Nevertheless, I work my best to follow the instructions given to fulfill my responsibilities.
The one strength, which is my willing to learn attitude is very helpful throughout the program. It is because I am entirely new to the position as a treasurer. That is to say to be a treasurer is a challenge for me. However, it does not freak me out as I take the challenge and ask some guidance from the treasurer of PERSAKA, Atiqah. She teaches me on how to write the financial report and reminds me to keep all the receipts as the proof of payments. After completing the report, I realize that being a treasurer is not that difficult as long as I am willing to learn about the defined procedures of writing the required documents. To sum up, it is a delightful experience of being a part of the Programming Clinic team as I have successfully gain new skill to write a financial report.
