Reflection on AWS
I strongly agree that getting the AWS badge is included in the SECP1513 subject. Undoubtedly, via the modules from AWS Academy, it has successfully broadened and widened the vision and knowledge of students in the areas of Cloud Computing, AWS, and also the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. AWS Academy is not only teaching the theories of cloud computing but also focusing on the practical by providing students with lab exercises and activities to improve their understanding. In this highly competitive environment, getting the AWS will bring lots of benefits to students by elevating their potential, capability, and employability. In conclusion, I appreciate the opportunity given by UTM academic staff to enhance our knowledge in the fields of AWS and Cloud Computing. Thank you to the UTM Academic Staff for their hard work and dedication.
My direction after completing the badge is to increase my knowledge of Cloud Computing and Computer Science. First, I plan to do my revision in order to enhance my knowledge. After finishing my revision, I aim to attend the next class to get other badges to improve my capability and knowledge of Cloud Computing and Computer Science, such as machine learning, data analysis, database management, and so on. Our country intends to enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution.Thus, I hope to learn this knowledge to reciprocate in my motherland, Malaysia.
Unquestionably, cloud computing is the way of the future in this era of globalisation and modernization. We are fortunate as our dedicated UTM academic staff have provided us an opportunity to study the knowledge of cloud computing via AWS Academy, and I strongly believe that the AWS badge is essential in improving our competitiveness and employability. I advise my friends who have not gotten the AWS Badge to manage their time wisely. Time is money, and we must spend it wisely on activities that benefit us rather than wasting it on activities that do not. Besides that, we should set a clear goal for ourselves. Setting a goal is imperative to improving our efficiency and productivity. In conclusion, knowledge is power. Let us complete modules as fast as possible.
In my opinion, I strongly agree that every UTM computer science student should learn cloud computing and get the AWS badge. Therefore, as Cloud Computing is one of the most important items in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, there is a reason why I strongly recommend every UTM computer science student learn Cloud Computing. Besides that, based on the National Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Policy implemented by the Economic Planning Unit, our beloved country, Malaysia, is planning to elevate the information technology and computer science fields in order to become an advanced and modern country on the world stage. However, nowadays, our country is still encountering a shortage of experts in this field. Thus, we, as the citizens of Malaysia, must learn cloud computing to increase our technical, competitive, and knowledge base and always be ready to contribute to our motherland, Malaysia.
In my opinion, I suggest every company should shift to cloud computing. Undoubtedly, cloud computing provides us with lots of benefits, especially in the field of business. For example, saving cost, scalable recourses, increasing security, strategic competitive advantage, and so on. By shifting to cloud computing, we can save on costs as we do not need to purchase hardware or servers and also spend a lot of money on maintaining our data centres because these will be provided by our provider's servers. Thus, we can more easily focus on our businesses instead of spending our time and money on this matter. Besides that, the services of cloud computing are scalability. Cloud computing uses a pay-as-you-go pricing method. It means we pay based on how much we use. Furthermore, we do not need to worry about the unexpected peak that will not get the server up while using cloud computing services because our service providers will assist us in solving this issue. In conclusion, there are many advantages to utilising cloud computing, so I recommend every company shift to cloud computing.
Absolutely, I have learned lots of knowledge and skills about cloud computing via the foundation of cloud computing. Through the videos from inside the modules, we can study the knowledge of cloud computing and AWS, as they have dedicated and experienced lecturers to guide and teach you. Besides that, these foundations are not only focusing on information but also providing their students with lab exercises and activities. These lab exercises and activities are essential to improving the skills of students using AWS. Every exercise and activity will provide a manual to students to guide them in utilising the AWS services. This manual is imperative to enhance the understanding of students. In conclusion, getting the badge has successfully improved my knowledge and skills in cloud computing.
My motivation to complete this project is having a clear goal. For example, there are many benefits of setting goals, such as having a clear direction, elevating our productivity, and greater focus. Thus, I set my goal to become an excellent data scientist, and this goal will guide and assist me to sustain the momentum to complete my project. Besides that, I set a deadline to motivate myself. Setting a deadline is imperative and useful when trying to urge ourselves to complete tasks or assignments in a limited time. For me, I set a deadline of three weeks to complete this project, and this setting has successfully motivated me to thrive on a deadline. Fortunately, I have completed this project before the deadline.
Absolutely Yes! Cloud computing is now becoming one of the most important skills when it comes to the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. Having this badge demonstrates that we have basic knowledge and skills in cloud computing, and I am confident that having this badge will help us increase our competitiveness and employability in the future.
In my opinion, getting the badge is not difficult. As long as we use the right and proper method, we will easily obtain it. All the materials such as lecture videos and notes are provided by the AWS Academy. We just need to properly manage our time and we can easily complete all the modules in a limited time.
From my perspective, the easiest module is module 1, as module 1 is just a simple briefing about what AWS is, the importance of AWS, the benefits of utilising the cloud and so on. Module 1 without any lab exercises can be done in a short time.
For me, the hardest module is Module 6, Compute. This module mainly introduces the functions and structures of Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk. As this information is new to me, So, I take lots of time to understand these deeply. Besides that, this module contains two activities and one lab exercise. Thus, I need to spend lots of time completing these practices.
The first thing that I gained from this course is knowledge of the cloud. Through this course, I have learned and understood more deeply the functions and structures of the cloud and also the imperative of the cloud to mankind. The AWS academy not only teaches me the basics of the cloud, but it also provides me with lab exercises for actual operation. Besides that, this course also teaches me deeply about the services provided by AWS and also every single element in AWS, for instance, Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Block Store, and so on. I am convinced that this knowledge that I have learned from AWS Academy is very important for me and will be useful in my future.
