PEHARTA, the Real Estate Management and Appraisal Association, collaborates with three universities, namely Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Malaya (UM), and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), to organize the Real Estate Internship Talk Program. This program aims to provide students with insights into the world of work and equip them with a realistic understanding of the professional landscape, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.

I had the privilege of attending a highly informative event organized by PEHARTA UTM titled "Real Estate Internship Talk: Sharing Session - Internship Experience as a Valuer in the Government and Private Sectors" on March 10, 2022. The event featured two distinguished guest speakers: Sahzliynah Zakariah, a 4th-year student from UTM, who completed her Industrial Training at JPPH in Johor Bahru, representing the public sector, and Muhammad Fatih Bin Samsul Anuar, also a 4th-year UTM student, who conducted his Industrial Training at Rahim&Co International Sdn.Bhd in Kuantan, representing the private sector.

Sahzliynah Zakariah and Muhammad Fatih Bin Samsul Anuar shared valuable insights on their experiences and knowledge gained during their internships, aiming to provide attendees with a realistic perspective on the world of work. The speakers emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills, adapting to the work environment, and understanding the challenges and opportunities within the real estate industry.

During the talk, important aspects discussed included the daily tasks and responsibilities of valuers in both the government and private sectors. Participating in the "Real Estate Internship Talk: Sharing Session - Internship Experience as a Valuer in the Government and Private Sectors" event organized by PEHARTA UTM was a transformative experience for me as a real estate student. Listening to Sahzliynah Zakariah and Muhammad Fatih Bin Samsul Anuar share their internship experiences provided me with invaluable lessons and insights.

One of the key lessons I learned through attending this event was the importance of practical experience in shaping a successful career as a valuer. Both speakers emphasized the significance of internships in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice. Their experiences highlighted the practical skills, industry-specific knowledge, and work ethics necessary to thrive as valuers in both the government and private sectors.
