Internship at Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd

I have undergone my 12-week internship in Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd under Sensors Department (SENS) from July to October 2021.

During my internship in SENS, I was attached to Material Engineering (ME) under the supervision of Mrs Rebecca, a senior manufacturing engineer. I worked in the Development centre (DC) and had grabbed every opportunity to enter the production line in blocks 5 & 6 which has exposed me to various engineering knowledge and operations of the company. These lines include PSSO magnetic sensor package line, PDSOF airbag sensor package line, TDSO & TPMS Tire pressure angle sensor package line.

I have done my best to complete every task assigned by my industrial supervisor, other colleagues or manager and try to learn as much as possible during these 12 weeks. These assignments include Engineering Safe launch Lot Status update, verification of yield losses & bin rejection database, Wire bonding Process Monitoring, technical report sharing on Infineon spectroscopy system, Safe Launch Project data gathering, Statistical Process Control (SPC) data extraction as well as making delamination report on material issue rejection units.

It has been a very meaningful working experience in SENS where I have been exposed to a real industrial environment and could apply the engineering knowledge taught in the lecture rooms to real industrial situations. Besides that, I learnt a lot from my supervisor, colleagues and gained experience in technical writing in engineering works and projects. This 12-week internship has allowed me to gain value in accomplishing personal, professional and social development. Hopefully, after graduation, I will continue to work with INFINEON or any other semiconductor company.

I very much appreciate that Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd accept me as an intern student. I was treated well in the company even I will only spend 12 weeks with them. Everyone in the company is friendly and helpful, the most important thing is, I learned a lot of knowledge that I cannot learn in the class, this is the most precious thing I gain through industrial training. This is a wonderful experience having an internship in Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
