MOHSIN ALI's Reflection

Self Reflection

Participating in the Protocol Team for Start Up! '23 was an enlightening and fulfilling experience. It provided me with valuable insights into event management, negotiation, and teamwork, all of which are skills that are highly transferable and beneficial in various aspects of life.

One of the most significant takeaways from this experience was the importance of effective communication and collaboration within a team. Our team consisted of individuals with diverse backgrounds and skills, and it was fascinating to witness how these differences contributed to our overall success. Clear roles and responsibilities were defined, which helped streamline our efforts and keep us on track. Learning how to effectively communicate and work harmoniously with team members is a skill I'll carry with me into future endeavors.

The process of identifying and securing a keynote speaker was both challenging and rewarding. We had to conduct thorough research to find the right fit for the event, considering factors like the speaker's reputation, past engagements, and alignment with the event's theme. This experience reinforced the importance of attention to detail and meticulous planning. Negotiating with potential speakers was another learning curve. It taught me the art of persuasion and compromise. It was crucial to strike a balance between the speaker's expectations and finding that equilibrium was a valuable lesson.

The successful outcome of our efforts, securing a speaker, was incredibly gratifying. Knowing that our team's hard work had contributed to bringing an inspiring figure to the event was a proud moment. It reinforced the idea that persistence and determination can lead to successful outcomes.

Of course, no experience is without its challenges. We encountered obstacles in negotiating within budget constraints and coordinating schedules, but these challenges were opportunities for growth. They pushed me to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills. It was also a reminder that not everything goes smoothly, and adaptability is a crucial skill in any project.

In the end, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Protocol Team for Start Up! '23. It was a journey filled with learning, personal growth, and the satisfaction of contributing to the success of a significant event. This experience has left me more confident in my ability to take on responsibilities, work effectively in teams, and tackle challenges head-on. It's a reminder that real-world experiences can be some of the most valuable teachers, and I look forward to applying these lessons in future endeavors.

AWS JOURNEY AND REFLECTION

Cloud computing is best defined as "internet computing" with the primary purpose of supplying computer services such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence via "the cloud" over the internet. This cloud-based system makes it easier for users to save data because they can access it as long as they are connected to the internet. One of the many benefits of cloud computing is that consumers, organisations, and service providers do not need to maintain physical servers or run software applications on their own workstations; instead, they can use a server that is already available in the cloud.

Types of Services:

  1. IAAS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service)
  2. PAAS (Platform-as-a-Service)
  3. SAAS (Software-as-a-Service)

Cloud Computing Deployment Models:

Private Cloud: It is secure and works for single organisations on a private network.

Public Cloud: It is owned by the cloud service provider.

Hybrid cloud: This is a cloud that combines both private and public versions.

The AWS badge is what drives me to finish this project. This is because AWS is one of the obligatory coursework projects for students enrolled in the Technology and Information Systems course (TIS). When we received the badge, it meant we had accomplished the task. This motivated me to complete the project as quickly as possible. Receiving the badge also validates your completion of all AWS courses and challenges.

I think getting the badge was easy but it was time consuming.  This was due to the large number of courses, tasks, quizzes, and labs that we must complete. It took a lot of time and effort to finish. For me, I think the module one was the easiest and module 8 was the difficult one.

I believe the badge will enable me to have a resume that is competitive and filled with cloud computing experience. This will improve my work prospects in the future.

Getting the badge is beneficial to our future because it provides a wealth of information on cloud computing. We can gain a more in-depth understanding of AWS cloud computing with this course, enhancing our competitiveness for future work or problems in this area.

Every company, in my opinion, should use cloud computing. This is because cloud computing has the potential to reduce IT expenditures while also providing more flexibility and efficiency.

Every student taking a computer science course, in my opinion, should learn cloud computing and participate in the AWS badge programme to improve their knowledge and skills.

I will advice to my friends that just stay strong and don’t lose hope, give it some time, you’ll get your badge.

I have not thought much about that but I will focus on building my skills in coding for now.

I think that it is a great course offering knowledge about the real industry with its industrial talk. The AWS badge is great for improving your knowledge in cloud computing field and making your resume look great.
