AHMED SHUKUR BIN JALALUDIN's Reflection
Below is my reflection video of my industrial training journey at IASRG UTM.
I have learned the full process of network planning that a network analyst must do in order to implement the network architecture that we are using in our everyday lives. Each steps taken are meticulously done due to all of them being interrelated. Hence, the best connectivity can be delivered if the network analyst had taken care of each miniscule of processes involved in network planning. Some of my comments are this project actually teaches us regarding real world problem solving and knowledge implementation, which really prepares us for our jobs and careers in the future, while nurtures us to have plethora of talents and skills needed such as communication and leadership skills
During the making of this project report, I learnt plethora of knowledges and various values which actually improved myself as a person and a student in many ways. For starters, I learnt many things about statistics, where there is a whole other paradigm of statistics, which is Inferential statistics. Hence, I learnt many things regarding inferential statistics in this project, such as how we use samples to draw conclusions for the whole population, how to even check if the conclusion can be applied to the population, how accurate is our estimation, and many more. These knowledges has taught me more about the field of statistics, regarding how people do surveys and case studies and draw conclusions for certain populations. Furthermore, from the perspective of values, I learnt how to play an important role in a teamwork setting, since everyone was very energetic and engaged during discussion, thus I needed to speak out and contribute my ideas in order to be more functional. Next, I learnt to manage my time especially during times when I had many due for assignments at the same date, where I had to simultaneously complete multiple assignments and projects before the given due date. Not just that, I even managed to be more independent by learning the subject by myself only by watching the lecture videos provided, which saved me from being completely clueless in this subject. Hence, I would dare to say that this project taught me many good things to be applied in my life onwards.
I aim to fully master all the subjects required in this course so that I can bravely step up into the industry as a possible great asset of any company. Next, I have the goal to learn many things regarding this course from various platforms, not just by lectures, but also by talks, tours, lab works, and also internships.
For starters, I surely have to get a good CGPA in this bachelor's degree. At the same time, joining activities such as Hackathon will be beneficial for me to add to my resume. Not just that, I can also take additional courses and certifications offered by other organizations such as AWS Practitioner Certification and Cisco CCNA Certification. According to an expert in this industry, I was also advised to nail my final year project as it can be added as well in my resume which may impress the interviewers. I am also looking forward to do freelance jobs and hobby projects which are also some of the artefacts that I can add into my resume to create a good portfolio of mine to become a strong contender in the job market.
This course provides us with an insightful look into the world of technologies and information system, which covers a wide range of topic from the basic components of a computer to database structures and organization management. This course prepares us for the work environment by introducing us to plethora of technologies, terms, concepts that are mainstream and typical in the Information System industry. Furthermore, the lectures by Mr. Hairudin BIn Abdul Majid gives a lot of emphasis on basic fundamental principles of Information System, while the Industrial Talk series in this course encourages us to really engage with experts and professionals that are meticulously picked to enlighten us with the current trends and technologies. Not just that, I actually managed to improve my soft skills exponentially during this course due to the course assignments' nature that require us to be able to utilize various software tools such as video and image editing tools, word processors, spreadsheet, data visualizers and many more.
I would like to give a huge thanks to my Technology and Information System lecturer, Sir Hairudin Bin Abdul Majid, for always being helpful and ready to guide us throughout this course even though we do sometimes struggle to actually understand some parts of the lecture or assignments give. I wish a great life to Sir Hairudin, and may we met again Sir.
