CHIH ZHEN EN's Reflection

What is your goal/dream concerning your course/program?

First of all, I hope to get good results for my program of Degree in Software Engineering. IT courses are generalized and becoming more popular nowadays. It is predicted that IT will be the leading industries in the near future. I hope to obtain more experience and knowledge in my program to increase my potential in the industry. Upon graduation of the course, I hope to find a career that is related to my university course. I wish that I can work in computer-science jobs because it is preferrable to have a career that suits your interest.

What is the action/improvement/plan necessary for you to improve your potential in the industry?

I am aware of my lack in competencies in the industry. There is so much more to learn for me. The early exposure to the industrial talks broaden my view on technologies and introduced me towards more computer science techniques. To improve my potential in the industry, my first option would be joining internships from companies to build up my practical experiences. I will also take on more online courses to learn extra knowledge that are not taught in my program. As an example, the AWS Foundation course presents the students a certified badge upon completion. It is an acknowledgement of the skill and knowledge that can be displayed in my resume. It never hurts to learn more; I will grasp every possible chance to elevate my skills and ability.

Your opinion on whether this subject contributes to your knowledge on specific area?

To me, this subject is very informative. In software engineering, programming language is not the element that matters. This Technology & Information system subject provides me with the fundamental knowledge on computer software and hardware along with internet technologies. These information can be applied and implemented in real life too. The industrial talks are very constructive as well. The speakers share their professional knowledge and experiences which increase our interests towards the system and technology field.

Acknowledgement for your lecturer

I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Hairudin b. Abdul Majid, my lecturer for the subject of SECP 1513. He is a very dedicated and responsible lecturer. For instance, Mr Hairudin would frequently share information about the industrial talks or live activities related to our course. During class sessions, Mr Hairudin often build up interaction with the students to make sure that the class atmosphere is not so tense. He is always ready to answer our enquiries regarding the assignments or projects even after class hours. All in all, My Hairudin is a top-tier lecturer and I am grateful to have him as my lecturer.
