MUHAMMAD IZZUDDIN BIN SHABRIN's Reflection
First of all, I want to give my PSDA lecturer, Dr Nor Azizah Ali a big thanks and my appreciation for the time that she has sacrificed to teach us from the start of the semester until the end. It has been a pleasure to learn with her as she is a very considerate lecturer and provides us with a great explanation during classes which makes her class more enjoyable.
Project #2 give me an opportunity to try and apply what I have learned from this course such as hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, Chi-square and much more. The project began with a briefing on the task which is easy to understand due to the magnificent delivery from our lecturer. After that, we proceed with the project by selecting the dataset that we want to use for our analysis. For me, this part of the project is quite difficult to be done as we need to find datasets that are usable to be analysed. Therefore, we have a discussion among ourselves first to decide on the dataset that we want and then consult with our lecturer to get approval on whether the dataset is usable or not.
My groupmates are very helpful and responsive when we are doing a discussion. We also help each other when there is any of the team members have difficulties understanding the task given. I also gain a lot of new knowledge as I need to apply R programming to do the analysis of the dataset. Our lecturer did cover the basic for R programming however, the project use some of function that not covered during the lecture. Therefore, I decided to do some self-learning by reading the R programming slides provided and also researching on youtube. While doing this project, I have learnt a lot of R programming which will be useful for my future as a data engineering students.
Working with as a group gave me an opportunity to learn how to work as a team and to trust my group with the task that have been divided. All of my groupmates are very responsible and always done the task given on time. All in all, it has been a nice experience to work alongside them and I belive that this project is the best opportunity to apply all the things that I have learnt and I do feel like this project gave me an exposure to the working environment that I will pursue in the future.
I would like to thank my lecturer, Dr Izyan Izzati who always gives her best when giving us lectures every week while also giving me a lot of guidance to complete the assignments that are given to me. Without her crystal clear explanation and interactive ways of teaching, the class has become more fun and enjoyable for me while also providing me with a great understanding of the subject. In addition, her dedication in guiding us during working on my assignment is very helpful therefore I really want to express my gratitude to my lecturer as her assistance means a lot me and my groupmates as we struggle to complete our assignment. Last but not least, I hope that I can learn from you in the next year.
In my opinion, this subject gives me a lot of new information on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it will benefit us as a whole. For me, the industrial talk series is very informative and valuable for me as it broadens my perspective on the industry that I will be involved in the future. Besides, these talks expose me to the solution that 4IR have to offer such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, networks and so on which will help many working sectors such as manufacturing and business to become more productive, cost-efficient and more collaborative. Therefore, I believe that this subject contributes greatly to my knowledge.
My action to improve my potential is by participating actively in extra-curricular activities in the university as most of the activities are valuable as participating in these activities will give me a significant effect in developing both my soft skills and hard skills. I believe that developing these skills is very crucial as most of the company seeks to employ workers that have leadership, have great teamwork, are versatile and also have the capabilities to use many different software which can be achieved from these skills.
As a computer science student, my goal is to enhance my coding skills and also increase my understanding in other subjects such as discrete structure, digital logic and many more as coding skills and the knowledge of other subjects held the same importance to create my future career in this field. In addition, I strive to achieve GPA 4.00 for every sem and finally graduate from university with flying colours. I also aim to actively participate in extra-curricular activities that can help develop both my soft and technical skills which can be applied to increase my chances when applying for my future job.
