MUHAMMAD WAFFI QAYYUM BIN DIN's Reflection
First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to my wonderful lecturers. i am blessed to have the chance of having all of you as my lecturers. I also want to thank Dr. Izyan Izzati for always being considerate to me and my friends. Even though there are a lot of assignments for this subject, I was not stressed as Dr gave me enough time to complete it. With Dr. Izyan izzati and other lecturers' guidance and constant motivation, I succeed to survive my first semester as a student of UTM.
In my opinion, This subject has helped me a lot particularly in terms of gaining new knowledge about current technologies. For instance, I only knew the existence of Wi-fi 6 only after hearing one of the Industrial Talks on this subject. I am also able to increase my skills in editing and designing since I used a lot of graphic design tools such as Canva to accomplish the assignments. During the latest assignment, I have learned the process of visualizing data which is very interesting and a skill that I had never considered studying before. I also have been introduced and taught to use Microsoft Power BI which is a data analytic software that most big companies are using nowadays, which is pretty amazing. The most important part of this subject is that I have been trained to work as part of a team. This is due to the fact that all of TIS's assignments and project requires group work. This subject has considerably improved my teamwork skills. Lastly, I would like to thank my teammates Abdullah, Moataz, Malek and Eikisha for the great teamwork!
I believe to succeed in any industry sector, I have to be highly skilled and have my own special attributes. Therefore, I have to improve my skills by exploring new and various programming languages. Currently, I am learning how to use React Js which is a framework for web development, and next, I will be exploring flutter which is for mobile application development. I believe by expanding my knowledge in every programming language, I can stay relevant and also become flexible in the industry. Lastly, I will be creating a lot of projects to implement the programming language that I have learned and increase my understanding of it. This will help me to gain experience in facing real problems in developing projects. Hence, I am able to learn to solve it and prepare me in facing the upcoming challenges in the future.
I want to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible during my four years of studies at UTM in order to become a good and competent software engineer. My dream is to work at a company where my brother (who is also working as a software engineer) is now employed since he has informed me that the environment there is wonderful. That will be a fantastic opportunity for me to improve my skills and get experience before moving on to a new and larger company. I believe that finding a job as a software engineer is not tough because the world's technology is progressing and a large number of software engineers are needed as time goes on.
