In the beginning of the course, I have been exposed with various forms of data. The data represented by the different types of variables are derived from different sources including in our daily lives or industrial activities. With the help from Dr. Sharin as our lecturer, I managed to explore some methods of parameter estimation from different distributions. Further data analysis is conducted by introducing the hypothesis testing. It was quite confusing at first but everything went clearly with the exercises and discussions Dr. Sharin conduct during class session.
At the end of course we were asked to do a project which need us to apply some statistical models in analyzing data using R Studio software. As my group which consist of 4 people has decided to analyze a list of countries data, we chose to do hypothesis one sample test, correlation test, regression test and ANOVA test. As in my part, I did ANOVA test to test the equality of growth population means by analyzing the sample variances. Honestly, I went through ups and downs in applying this statistical model that I learnt into the R software but with the help from YouTube, cookbook and guidance from Dr. Sharin herself, I managed to do the test successfully.
Through this project, I got to examine the relationships between the variables population, as well as the relation between the samples. I learned so many practical ways from choosing the dataset, doing several analyses, and making conclusion based on our findings. I also learned on how to utilize the R Studio for the analyses which contributes to the plots and graphs, as well as the statistics used for the analyses.
