I have been appointed to be a leader for the last project which is PR4. In PR4, we have to complete all the system documentation report which are included the test cases. Through this task, I have implemented level 1 of leadership which is position. Level 1 is where the people, or in this situation is my team, follow me because they have to. For me, it is quite hard for me to be a leader since I have to handle and lead the team discussion, make sure the project progress goes well and have to understand the whole project to lead them. As a leader, I have to conduct my team in order to complete this task. For the team discussion, I am able to lead the discussion in Google Meet and assigned the task to every member. There are also some queries from my team members on how to the task and I am able to answer all their query. I have to make sure that I understand about this topic so that I can help my team if they are confused to do the report.
In term of teamwork, I am able to create a good relationship with them. We can work effectively as a group and there is no problem occur during our project implementation. I also respect their opinion and accept any better suggestion from them to get the best result of the project. Other than that, I also checking all the work of my team to make sure that they do the correct thing and the work is completely done. This is important for our team in order to get the highest mark for this subject. For me, it is not that hard to being a leader for this team, WASD group, because they give a big cooperation throughout our project this semester. I am so grateful to have them as my teammates.
There are also some tasks where I did not become a leader but I make some suggestion during assigning the task. I think this kind of leadership is on level 2 which is permission. In level 2, people or team members follow us because they want to. During that task or problem-solving question, we have to divide the work to complete the task early. Therefore, I give some suggestion on how to divide the task and they agree with that. Being a leadership must make a quick solution especially when the task period is short.
From this subject, I have learnt and experienced for being a leader in a team. Leadership skill is important for us to learn and take this opportunity to challenge ourselves to lead people. At the first place, we may feel it is tough and difficult to be a leader, but we should slowly learn and improve ourselves to be a better person. This skill can be useful in any field or work, or during carry out some program. Most importantly, during our job life, leadership skill is one of the criteria that can help us to be a high quality person.
