Self-Reflection

Not only did the program had a positive impact on the first-year students of psychology, it also had a major impact on me. By holding the position of vice director, I had gain a lot of experiences. It had improve my leadership skills on how to become a better leader and it helped me to figure out my leadership style. It also taught me how to be considerate to my committee members when we work as a team which indirectly helped me to develop better teamworking skills. Planning and managing a program is not an easy task and I had to think from a lot of aspects and come up with a lot of backup plans just in case something goes wrong which really challenges my thinking skills. Moreover, when communicating with the other committee members, I had always think ahead before I talk since I want to avoid any miscommunication, conflict and the frustration of others. Plus, I also had to give a clear order in order to communicate clearly. These had an impact on my communication skills and it helped me to communicate with others without having any issues. One of my personal strength that gave an advantage to me when handling this program is that I have a lot of ideas that I can contribute to different unit of committee members such as multimedia unit in which I commented on their work in order to achieve a higher quality of work. One of the main challenges is that we had to abruptly change the program to an online program. This program should have been a physical program and we had already came out with the program outline. Due to the pandemic, we had start over again in terms of planning. However, we managed to overcome it thanks to the dedication of all of the committee members by suggesting brilliant ideas and stay with us until the end of the program.
