I was given the opportunity to hold the position of Vice Director of Management for the program known as Psychic Junior Induction (PsyJI) 2020 (Mind Your Health). The main objective of this program is to be an exposition of new living surroundings and university life to the freshmen who are undergoing a complete transformation when they become the first-year undergraduate. My main task was to plan the outline of the program with the program director. Since this is an annual program to welcome and give exposure to first-year students of Psychology, we had to think of activities that are beneficial for them such as forum by our alumni that share the experiences that they had as psychology student. Other than that, I had to ensure that each unit of committee members worked on their task smoothly and keep track of their progress to report it to the program director. Moreover, when the program director was occupied, I had to take place of his duty and give direct and precise orders to the committee members. The first graduate attributes that are focused on in this program is leadership and teamworking skills. Strong leadership and teamworking skills are important since I had to lead others to the right path by giving them the right orders but I also had to remind them that we work as a team so as a leader, it is my job to display to them how important it is to work as a team. Next, thinking skills are also important since I had a lot to think about such as planning the outline and the flow of the program to ensure that it will run smoothly on the big day. Lastly, I had to focus on my communication skills when giving out orders in order to avoid conflict or miscommunication.
