What Is in The Industry is a program which give an in-depth knowledge about industrial training through sharing session from UTM’s alumni. As it is compulsory for each student to go through the industrial training before graduating and this program can help students to know what they will confront in the future and become more prepared. This program aims to increase students understanding about industrial training with the experience faced by the alumni.
One of the graduate attributes that are focused on in this program is adaptability skills. This is my first experience being as program secretary and I need to adapt all the new situation for me. I work with a new people as a team and I deal with a conflict, different ideas and I can adapt with that situation with positively. This adaptability skills makes me able to learn the new things quickly. I learn how to prepare a program report, meeting minutes and others secretary stuff. I can adapt the changes that arise in once environment and situation.
In addition, thinking skills. This is very importance to being a secretary. As a secretary, we will be having many works to be done at on time. I use to think how to manage my time and because I’m also a student and having another commitment, I need to manage my time wisely. I make a schedule and make sure that I’m not neglect my study because of curricular activities. I’m also use thinking skills to solve a problem that happen when I’m being a secretary. To prepare a program report, I need to make sure all the information delivered well and completed. I’m able to improve my thinking skills through joining this program.
The content of this activity is focus on industrial training. For the first slot, alumni that being invited will give a talk about industrial training as a bachelor student of psychology with human resources development. She shares about her experience as an internship and the ways to adapt a new situation when we work at a new place. Then, we have a Q&A session that allowed students to ask any questions that they curious about in industrial training. For the last slot, we having a photograph session with the invited alumni.
